Hello... My name is Ken and I live on the side of a mountain in Vermont. My nearest neighbors are a few miles away so for the last 20 years I have been able to listen to whatever I want and as loud as I want.
Due to health issues, unfortunately I am spending more time in bed or in my recliner.
The last time I used headphones was around 1985. I had a set of Stax Lambdas that I really liked. I suspect my old ears would prefer something a bit brighter and more lively now.
I am here to learn so that I can get an idea of which modern units I want to try.
Why prefazer LCD-2? I'd just try a newer version, and see if you like it. (Also the LCD-2 classic doesn't have fazors) I listen to my prefazer LCD-2s occasionally and wish they had a little more clarity and bass, but they're still enjoyable. Most of the time, I listen to the far superior sounding KSE1200.

If you're listening while lying down it might be easier to get an IEM, instead of a traditional headphone because the pillow won't push the ear cups off of your ears.

Hi Ken - I'm new here too. Jim from Central New York. If you are looking for IEM recommendations there are a lot of knowledgeable people here. I'm a long-time musician who is new to the audiophile world. I think I have an IEM addiction In the past several months I've amassed 32 IEMs from each price bracket. If you like a relatively neutral sound with slightly elevated bass and decent staging I might even be able to recommend a few to try...
Hi, my name is Gio and I live in Italy. I started with headphones recently, but I'm very passionate. I joined this forum because I was pleased to notice that the people who frequent it are really kind and give advice without being presumptuous. Thank you all!!!
Just introducing myself, I’m an audiophile/gamer and had some high end HIFI and headphones over the years, I decided to sell all my HIFI as I felt it was a never ending hole of non existent improvement. I found that the only place I can find real improvement in technology is gaming, I can actually see the improvement overtime and this has led me to look for the ultimate gaming headset.
I’m currently set on budget friendly Mayflower Arc MK 2 Headphone amp and sennheiser PC38x headphones, just pre ordered the new Audeze Maxwell hence why in interested in joining the forum due to the recent post about them.
Anyway, great to meet you all and hope we cross paths soon.
Hi folks, new guy here. My current setup is AKG K712 + Fulla Schiit connected to my PC. I use these as all day headphones to keep the noise level in the room down instead of running speakers. I've had various other (cheaper) headphones, but these have been my favorite so far. I am thinking of upgrading to Anandas though as the plastic bands have cracked and they feel loose/sloppy now.
BG here from Ohio. I've been lurking here since the start of the pandemic related lockdowns when I dipped my toe (and wallet into HIFI) with a Schiit stack and a pair of HD6XXs. I'm a lover of music, and I've learned a ton from these forums already. Thank you all for that . So, the journey continues...

I have the AKG K702s which are different than your K712s, but I also went to a planar magnetic upgrade, as in Audeze LCD-2. Now a days there's so many great IEMS, I'd look into a planar magnetic IEM or maybe a dynamic IEM like the Sennheiser ie600.
Hello Hi-Fi friends, new member here. I've had the hi-fi gene since my youth, and there is no end in sight.
I have a pair of Klipsch HP-3's, which I plug into my main system (Yamaha A-S2200 integrated), but I am researching headphone amps, streamers, and DACs, in the never-ending quest to reach an even higher plane in audio heaven. Happy listening and fellowship!
Hey everyone, merry christmas!! Joined the forum earlier last year to get my hands on a qudelix 5k. I'm into tech & DIY, I've wired up the 5k and permanently attached them to my sennheiser amperior. I have had a lot of earphones and headphones over the years and have only recently taken up to dearer models.
