they are really not the best sounding headphones, but with a Mount Fuji of BASS. Be sure to mount a new set of pads if you buy them used, otherwise they would sound like a halfway inserted IEM.

Hi everyone, this is my first post here and I would appreciate your feedback.
I have Grado GS1000 headphones. They are connected to a NAIM HEADLINE 2 headphone amplifier (including a power supply for the amplifier).
The source is Naim streamer+Ndac+555 p.s. recently decided to look for a better alternative.
From your personal experience -
1. Will changing to tubes/hybrid amplifier produce a good result for the existing headphones without investing unnecessary money? And if so, which amplifier is recommended (up to $ 700).
2. Is there a better alternative to the GS1000, in the Grado hierarchy (budget up to $ 1000)

Hello, Bret here. I joined last month and am just getting around to the introduction post. I joined after being led here in my search for a decent desktop headphone amp and DAC. I already have some Sennheiser HD-650 headphones but listening straight from the audio jack on my Mac mini is not as good as I'd like. Searching out reviews led me to Schiit Audio and that led me to forums here. And now I've joined.

So, now I am pretty sure my DAC will be a Mimir. As for the amp I am of two minds. I am considering the new Valhalla 3 and am anticipating reading more reviews of it. But I am also wondering if just getting a good used Asgard 2 would provide all I want. Hoping to turn review reading into buying soon.

Heya, decided to create an account here just in case I ever go deeper in the rabbit hole of audio products. (Also because there's a lot of useful forum posts here that I've stumbled upon recently) Currently starting it off with a pair of Sony ULT Wears, a Walkman NW-A35 with some unfortunate SD Card issues, another Walkman (NW-S785), a JBL Xtreme3 and finally a Sony ULT FIeld1. Not exactly audiophile-grade, but I've picked these up over time based on my hearing preferences and I quite like them anyway
