Hey guys, long-time lurker here that finally decided to stop stalking and join the community. My first foray into “good” equipment was my Sennheiser hd598. Since then I’ve gravitated more towards IEMs, as they’re easier to use when out and about. My daily driver is an Ibasso It01 and an RHA Trueconnect. I’m hoping to make the step into CIEM’s this year, and figured I should join and get the experts’ opinion on this journey.
In terms of music, my tastes are broad, but I’m particularly keen of heavier metal music (Death/Black). Looking forward to getting along with you all.
Finally I'm here on this forum...
Well, I'm no audiophile, but a movie addict on budget.
I watch movies everyday after my wife & 2 years old have slept without disturbing them.
Her is my set up :
Laptop (basic sound card)
Projector
FiiO e10k DAC
KZ AS10 IEM.
I use VLC player with AC3 filter for 6 channels and Razer software for surround effects.
My movie sources are downloaded bluray files with either 6 or 8 channels audio.
Even though I notice surround effects work with my set up, it is not satisfactory.
The sound stage of iem is obviously not movie surround grade IMHO.
So I'm planning to upgrade my headphone and the options are,
1. Logitech g430
2. Hyperx cloud ii
3. Bluedio UFO
4. Sennheiser H201
Or other headphones under $100
Please advise me which one I should go with for better surround experience.
Does having both :
software surround simulation + multi driver (bluedio ufo) enhance surround effects?
Or should I stick to software simulation + better quality headphone?
Or is there any external 3d USB sound card I should add (max budget $30) to listen to better surround on headphone?
Please help me with your expertise & experience.
Thank you all in advance.

Hello everyone, I'm new here, around the world of audio in headphones for a few years even if I'm not an expert at all, I often found myself on this forum to look behind the scenes various discussions and advice from experienced users, it was time for me to make an account.
I'm new here and i'm very happy to be part of this community...
Actually i have my Sennheiser Game One and yesterday arrived my new headphone AD700X. I don't have any sound card offboard, just my motherboard ASUS H310M with codec Realtek® ALC887!
I'm in doubt about DAC/AMP/Sound card
I was looking for Sound Blaster Z or Sound Blaster Omni (more portable) or Fiio K1. Someone can help me? haha
Hello everyone! I started tube rolling a couple years ago with a little dot MKiii. I primarily listen to FLAC from the computer via headphones. Now i'm looking to upgrade some components and would like advice and to discuss different products and sounds. Thanks, Matt
My name is McShaken, and I've gone down some sorted (sometimes scary) path that led me here.
It was an innocent start - Just a set of Sennheiser 598s; I mean, what's wrong with that???
Ultimately, it led me down this path... this is normal, right?
Sennheiser 598
A number of IEMs (too many to list - some weren't any good)
Sennheiser Momentum
Sony MDR1A
Fostex T-XO
V-Moda Crossface M-100
Sennheiser HD 6XX
Fostex TH-X00 Mahogany
Sony WH-1000xm2
Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro
Sony WH-1000xm3
1more Triple Driver Over Ear
Fostex TR-X00 Purplehearts
So I've been a long time lurker, but it looks like this isn't something that I'll be able to shake off anytime soon. Guess I'm hooked...
I'm now looking to bump up to the next level and strongly considering the Hifiman Arya or the Focal Clear as my next purchase. So I'll be in and out of these forums in the search for that "perfect" set of headphones (yes, I know there's no such thing)... but perhaps I can find my end goal someday with your help.
My advice, if you are planning an upgrade would be to move up to the Modi MB and a Vali 2 hybrid tube HP amp. I also own the Modi/Magni combo, which is very good, as you know...but the MB and Tube just put more icing on the cake. Welcomes and check out the various threads which are more specific to your needs--Vali tube rolling, Magni impressions, et al.
Thanks for the welcome! I actually had been thinking about upgrading to the Mimby but my coworker advised me to get the Geshelli Labs ENOG2 Pro since it was on sale for $180! Snagged a ENOG2/Archel stack (that I'm still giddily waiting on) with the eventual plan of upgrading to a THX-AAA 789 amp once my coworker sells me his old one as well as a Darkvoice tube amp (and eventually probably that HD800 my coworker keeps tempting me with pls stahp). Then I'm going to learn to make my own cables for the headphones that I own! So the Schiit stack is now my work and uhhhh sometimes portable setup when I decide to take my Cintiq to the coffee shop to work on stuff; I know it's really silly and impractical but I like having my audio for long drawing/painting sessions. Which probably means it's time for me to get a DFR or a Mojo or something LOL
I told myself I would be happy with my audio for two years last week. Then immediately caved on upgrades shortly after. Is there an audio addicton support group I can admit myself to as a self-intervention?

"Doctor, do you have a diagnosis, after this brief examination?" he asked...knowing the grim nature of this disease.
"It looks like Chronic Audiophilia Nervosis, with treatment, it can be managed, but we don't have a cure as yet..."
"I told myself I would be happy with my audio for two years last week..." he told the seasoned Physician.
"I know, I know, I hear it all the time from "Tube-rollers", they just seem to never be quite satisfied, no matter how cheap a new of tubes they purchase., the Specialist said to his patient,"My only advice is to try to do better, maybe go to this meetings, and keep up on the Audio Forums....but, Son, I have seen it get much worse--call me when you have a dozen tubes, but none fit your current amplifier..."
Hi. I'm not necessary new here but I decide to start being something more than observer.
My name is Sebastian and i'm audioaddict for a long time

I am Shawn. I like listening music, which makes me getting familiar with headphones and amplifiers. I have a IE80 and a HD600. I built a few O2+O-DAC from JDS Labs by myself. That is my desktop setup. For mobile using, I have a Dragonfly Red to connect to my iPhone X. Very satisfied with it connecting my IE80. I bought Apple AirPods 2 for the normal use nowadays, but still being passionate about upgrading my music gears.
My next goals on headphones are IE800, Shure SE535; for portable amps, I would like to buy a Chord Mojo.
