New Member Introductions thread

I cannot create a new thread!? not even in the help section of the forum? I only see the create new thread button in this forum, I am confused!

That's correct. For now you can only create threads in this forum. This is for a number of reasons ranging from people creating threads in the wrong forum to problems with spammers.

If you create a thread in this forum and it is more appropriate for another forum it will be moved there. Since most new members are asking questions, then the appropriate forum is this one. New threads may take a few hours to approve (depending on which moderators are around) so please be patient.  We had to turn this on because we had spammers who came in and posted up to 500 threads in the space of a couple of hours. Nobody will see question threads if the forum is full of spam.

Hello Rodrigo welcome to head-fi , please feel free to ask questions and look at threads on topics that interest you. First this amazing hobby can drain ones waller, in your quest for the headphone, that makes you happy. First what type of budget, second what type of music do you like. Third, do you want your rig to be portable or what not. Fourth do you want closed back or open backed headphone. Fifth, does your headphone need a amp or dac ( digital analog coverter) to sound its best. Well Rodrigo feel free to ask questions, have a goodnight.

Hello,

My name is Tristan and I have been looking to get away from my SkullCandy Ink'd earbuds A LOT lately. I have looked at headphone after headphone and am still looking to make a decision, which has brought me here.

Nice to meet everyone.

Hey folks! Markus here, from Hamburg, Germany. :)

Currently I own a pair of Hifiman HE-500's and AKG 712 Pro, as well as a Denon AH-MM400 for on the go.

As an amp I use the Arcam A19 which gets its music from the Arcam irDAC via a MacBook. I just ordered a Oppo HA-10, though, so the Arcam irDAC will leave me soon. For vinyl I use a Project Xtension 9 turntable which I really enjoy. As loudspeakers I own the B&W 804 Diamond, I cannot image ever needing more in this area. :)

Cheers!
Markus

Hello everybody. This is Martin. I am actually a speakers person. But ever since my daughter came into this world, I have not been able to use my speakers much especially in the night when she's asleep. As such, I am looking to get good headphones. Thank God for this forum. Hoping to get a wealth of knowledge here. Thanks in advance all!

Hi Martin, welcome to head-fi. If you are looking for a pair of headphones, that sound great and do not leak out music, I recommend going to MrSpeaker's .com and get yourself MrSpeaker's Alpha Dog's or Alpha Prime's.. These cans sound great and are on sale. Be well.

Hello all from east Texas.  I have been a hi-fi fanatic since the term was invented I guess.  I have been in pursuit of the ultimate "earotica" since the 70s and over the last few years have been striving to match the sound I used to get from my room filling systems through modern miniature digital systems.  Although I don't think I will ever get away from vinyl I have had some very satisfying results with an Apple Macbook Pro, Schiit DAC and amp, Sennheiser phones and JBL monitors/subs.

I appreciate all music but I am an dedicated unapologetic fanatic of the R&R I grew up with - now "classic rock".  Led Zeppelin leads the pack.

I look forward to learning more about new equipment through these forums.  I believe that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!

Hi, Long time Head-fi reader but only just joined. My interest in headphones and other gear came from making a few kit amps and then buying  a couple of headphone amps from JDS and Fiio.

Looking forward to some interesting discussions

I have a question... I'd like to add a list of my gear to my profile but the "Create a new list" button doesn't appear anywhere. Maybe it gets activated after the mods figure out I'm a real person and not a bot....
