Hey all,

Im new and really don't know what I'm doing. Navigating the forums has been tricky so far but just need some direction regarding opinions of amps and DACs.

Thanks in advance

Alex

Hello all,
My name is Ethan and I am an audioholic. I became an audioholic in the 80's when everything was HIFI, and have been chasing this rabbit down every hole ever since. I traveled the world and the 7 seas for 22 years and did not find my tribe until I got stationed in Japan. It was there that hit rock bottom, I would often wake up in strange places with one pair of headphones on my head and one in my hands and no memory of how I got there. Everyday I would feel Tokyo calling to me like a siren song, "come, explore and buy more audio equipment" it would say to me, and no matter how much I tried to resist, my will would falter and I would once again find myself on a train bound for Shibuya. Many days and nights were lost in the haze of music, lights, and all the electronics you could ever yearn for. To this day and thousands of miles away I can still hear those electronics booths and stores calling me, tempting me, seducing me in an attempt to lure me back... sigh. But, I am much better now, I no longer wake up on a train heading for Kurihama or Fujiyama wondering how I got there, why I had so many bags of electronics and where all my money has gone. Now, I live a quiet life on a farm in Oklahoma where I wake up in a daze, in my office, in front of my computer, half eaten sandwich on the desk, tissues on the floor and multiple browser tabs open to pages with nothing but filthy audiophile porn pages opened. My door bell rings, I clear the sleep from my eyes and go check the door where I find amazon has replaced Japan, and I no longer have to go to the electronics because now they come to me. While I have not recovered from hitting bottom in japan all those years ago I can at least find solace in the knowledge that while I may still wake up in a daze with tons of audio gear I don't remember buying and an empty electronic wallet, at least I am not on a train bound for some far off province where everyone speaks a foreign language and I don't know how to get home. Thank you all for listening and I look forward to our next meeting.

This is a fantastic first post! Thanks for that, and welcome fellow audioholic. Come visit the Schiit threads :beerchug:

Hi All

Long time lurker, but I’ve been burning a hole in my pocket for a few years now. I’m excited to learn more about this hobby from some experienced head-fiers.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! :dt880smile:

New guy here, just want to introduce myself and say hello to you all. I got into this hobby about a year ago and this site has been a wonderful resource to of information. I have learned a lot reading these pages and look forward to pass asking some knowledge from my own experiences.

I have quite a few cans in my stable including Stax SRS-3100, Grado PS500e, Beyerdynamic T1 and DT1990, and Audeze LCD2 just to name a few. I have a bunch more as well so I have definitely heard my fair share of gear first hand.

Hello there,

New Head-fi user here. My name is Mark! I'm wishing to interact and gain knowledge about good sounding cans without breaking the bank. I initially started my hobby 6 years ago from earbuds to cans now. I think I got these hobby from my uncle who's a DJ.

I currently own Klipsch Reference s4i, Shure (forgot what model grey in color), Sony WH-1000xm2, and the Philips SHL3300.
