New Member Introductions thread

Hello all,
My name is Ethan and I am an audioholic. I became an audioholic in the 80's when everything was HIFI, and have been chasing this rabbit down every hole ever since. I traveled the world and the 7 seas for 22 years and did not find my tribe until I got stationed in Japan. It was there that hit rock bottom, I would often wake up in strange places with one pair of headphones on my head and one in my hands and no memory of how I got there. Everyday I would feel Tokyo calling to me like a siren song, "come, explore and buy more audio equipment" it would say to me, and no matter how much I tried to resist, my will would falter and I would once again find myself on a train bound for Shibuya. Many days and nights were lost in the haze of music, lights, and all the electronics you could ever yearn for. To this day and thousands of miles away I can still hear those electronics booths and stores calling me, tempting me, seducing me in an attempt to lure me back... sigh. But, I am much better now, I no longer wake up on a train heading for Kurihama or Fujiyama wondering how I got there, why I had so many bags of electronics and where all my money has gone. Now, I live a quiet life on a farm in Oklahoma where I wake up in a daze, in my office, in front of my computer, half eaten sandwich on the desk, tissues on the floor and multiple browser tabs open to pages with nothing but filthy audiophile porn pages opened. My door bell rings, I clear the sleep from my eyes and go check the door where I find amazon has replaced Japan, and I no longer have to go to the electronics because now they come to me. While I have not recovered from hitting bottom in japan all those years ago I can at least find solace in the knowledge that while I may still wake up in a daze with tons of audio gear I don't remember buying and an empty electronic wallet, at least I am not on a train bound for some far off province where everyone speaks a foreign language and I don't know how to get home. Thank you all for listening and I look forward to our next meeting.
Awesome introduction! For some reason I understand

Hi Everybody!

I am new to the forum and new to the audiophile world.
I recently purchased an ibasso dx 150, but have a slight problem with it, I would like to discuss in the respective forum section.

This forum helped me a lot by reading the reviews and posts from all the members regarding their experiences with different devices.

So maybe I could help someday others with my experience.

Best regards
Guido

Hello all. Not exactly new to the forum, but have been away from Head-Fi for a while. Running a Lawn Care business plus working full-time as a CNC operator doesn't leave much free time. I recently sold the lawn care business and now have time to get back to things I enjoy.

So - hello again. lol

Hi all, I've been a lurker on this forum for a while but I've decided to finally create an account! I'm a computer science PhD student in the US. My current setup is the Trinity Audio Atlas with a Colorfly C3 DAP. I mostly listen to alternative, rock, and classical.
Welcome, @raddar4!! Glad you finally decided to join in the fun! Have fun with it!! :)

Wut’s up guys? I’m a Danish synth composer, running my own little home studio with some pretty decent gear. I mainly mix through a pair of ADAM monitors. Occasionally, I use a pair of Sennheiser HD25-1 II.
I would like to study user feedback on other cans in order to prepare myself for an upgrade at some point - which brings me here.

Hi guys!

My name is Reza, I'm an embedded systems engineer from Indonesia. I am working for a defense contractor company, mainly building flight controller for fixed-wing UAV.
At the moment have Philips GoGear Mix, Benjie S5 and rockboxed T6, several DIY earbuds, VE Monk Plus, KZ ZS3, and TY Hi-Z 32 (Chi-Fi equipment). I'm not considered myself as an audiophile, just a regular guy who enjoys listening to music.

My journey starts when my father bought me a compact cassette player in 1998 (it was a Sony Walkman, but I forgot the model), I listen to this until I finish high school. When I was in college, I started to buy MP3 player like Creative MuVo N200
and Creative Zen Stone, both of them served me very well whether I'm using cans or speaker. Before I bought S5 and T6 (which brings me here), I usually use my smartphone through Poweramp with Hi-Res output.

Have a good day.

Hi! Everyone:
I am a new member just registered today although I have visited this site often especially before I purchase any new audio gears. I respect opinions and recommendations from members here very much.
I have spent much of my time and money on audio gears, from small IEM to entire home theater systems. I look forward to discussing and exchange information with everyone here. I live in Syracuse, NY. I have been fortunate to be blessed with great hearing (or a curse for spending $$$ on audio gears) and a singing voice since I was a child.

Hello everyone!

My name is Jon and found this forum because my 80gig IPod Classic gave up the ghost after eleven years faithful service. I was looking for a replacement DAP and that led me here. I never really researched anything like this before and the flood of options and opinions has been a little overwhelming. I chiefly have listened to MP3s through cheap earbuds until now but I love music and I'm learning though reading up, though I will still be limited by budget. I have already started re-ripping some of my music as 256 AAC and ALAC so I can compare. I've been weighing FIIO X1, X3 versus XDuoo and AGPTEK and obviously I will need better than $10 Skullcancy earbuds to take advantage.

Thank you for letting me in.

Welcome, Jon!! Yes, there are many, many options out there. But if you take some time, I am sure you will find a suitable rig at a somewhat sensible price (hee hee). All the best--. :)
