I'm in japan and saw the MM300 on display for listening but the cable was disconnected so I couldn't listen.

The MM400 have had their release dated pushed back till mid Jan.

Just received my pair of the AH-MM400! First impressions, the design looks great and sits well. Very good craftsmanship!

Time to start listening!

Feel free to ask if there's something you like to know!

Here is a picture, it comes with a nice sack to keep it in save, box also includes the cable and a big manual but no extras.

So far I've been listing to Piano lounge, which sounds very good, notes are all present but not overly so. The bass is also there but noticeable less so, than say with the denon AH-MM 600.

My account does not yet allow me to embed pictures, so here's a link.

Heard AH-MM400 for half an hour in a store today, from my DX90, materials are super nice and I was surprised by the superb comfort, but I found them boomy all over the place. In bassheavy tunes it was much too much for me. I found the mids/treble withdrawn too, so overall quite muddled (all IMO of course). I love bass, but coming from SE846 this was a BIG step in the very wrong direction for me. IMO SE846 goes lower and more importantly are not boomy, although they are double the price I did'nt expect the MM400 to be that much behind.

Anyone agree/disagree on these impressions?

Don't know if this is just the chosen tuning of the Music Maniac line.

Or maybe it would be expected to settle down after burn-in?
