The new build quality of the headphone is quite interesting too. :)

whats the sound suppose to be like with these pads?

I'm hoping for less effort on putting them on and more isolation. So more chance of accurate ear placement. I'm having trouble demoing mine to other people because of the sensitive ear placement. You really need to learn how to put them on correctly (assuming your ear shape is in the majority) in order to appreciate their sound especially the low-end region. Really excited about the new version! :)

Well, DT1350 already has atomic bomb proof build quality, don't they?

Yes. But there are other users that had bad experiences with the swiveling cup and/or the ladder adjustment. Maybe this revision will even lower the chance of those components being broken easily.

I'd love to try out the new version, bit it's pretty hard to justify given my current pair is pretty near perfect.

Being somewhat polished or improved version of DT1350 even it's just an improved build quality is enough for me to justify. I mean, That's a new version of DT 1350 we're talking about! :D (Sorry just got too excited.) Mine too is in perfect condition, but I sure do know it likes to see its new brother! :)

I prefer the look of the current version. Think they should of just kept with the shell on the earcups.

Yeah i have that issue with the current pair, very annoying! Essentially the plastic wore of the hinge and now the earcup is all flimsy..

There is no improvement, rather more options. These new cushions should be easily available for current DT1350.

I'd like to believe that there are some improvements based on what they said on the press.
In the new DT 1350, the proven durability of the housing with its 90° rotating ear shells has been enhanced with optimized components for demanding applications.

That sucks! Thankfully mine is somehow still in perfect condition. I applied a little WD-40 on the adjustment ladder so it's not that stiff when I adjust it. I think the plastic can't take the tension when I adjust them and the metal ladder is stiff.

That link wouldn't work for me. Is this the press release you guys are referring to?
