Friends, I ask you to help. Reading great reviews and rush to update CDPA. I was unable to install the program on a desktop computer, the download stops at 83%. On the advice in the messages of this forum, I tried to do the same on the laptop. The software loaded successfully, the Xilinx blaster connected, which I judge by the green indicator on it. But the software does not see the connection, an error occurs, writes check the wires, check the connection. Does the Xilinx blaster need its own driver, just like the Altera blister needs its own driver? If needed, where can I find it? I would be very grateful for any help!

@Raul77 Yes, connect the Xilinx blaster to the JTAG port on the DAC and turn DAC power on before attempting programming.. The Xilinx chip is part of the feedback loop in the programming software.

The blaster needs a USB driver on the PC to work OK. I usually connect the blaster when installing software. Otherwise you may have to manually find the driver and install with Windows hardware manager.

We may be able to help further if you take a screenshot of the error message.

@DACLadder, I am very grateful to you and @FredA for all the valuable feedback and advice that I read very carefully earlier! As a result, I bought gdr 7he mkII audio and used it via IIS, and the watch, power supply and a lot of cables were bought on the recommendation of @FredA! I am also very grateful to all the participants for their valuable advice!

I connected Xilinx blaster and enabled gdr 7 he MKII before downloading the update file. But when installing the basic Xilinx software, the blaster was disabled.

In a few hours I will attach photos of the error and connection.

@Raul77 The 64-bit version does not run on my PC. Try the 32-bit version. In the Windows (10) search box type "impact" and select Impact 32 app versus Impact 64.

With Impact 64 the programming stalls in the middle of the program cycle. But others run Impact 64 OK. It is flaky software and originally intended for Win 7,

The other thing to consider is "Core Isolation" blocks the Altera software, when you turn it off everything works on Win10. Maybe this is the same for the Xilinix tools.

It's easy to try but it requires a reboot. Go to start button and start typing core isolation. You will have a chance to go to system settings and turn it off.

My distributor only had a Gustard C18 clock and an expensive Mutec REF 10.
I chose the C18 and I am satisfied.
Complete with the Gustard C18 clock is the RG400 cable, the other BNC cable I bought the Gustard C2 which is a bit similar to the RG402.
Living in Europe, I would also consider the MK508-PRO-10 MHz clock, which has better parameters than the Mutec REF 10, Magna Hifi has it in its offer.
I have my eyes on C18 too, do you give a bit more details how the sound like after using C18, by comparing to the onboard clocks.

@Raul77 The Impact SW was able to identify the Xilinx chip but looks like a hardware error was generated afterward. I had a similar problem years ago and fixed it by slowing down the JTAG download clock. I need to research how to configure the JTAG clock. So let me look.

@Raul77 Take a look at the following thread on how to configure the JTAG programming cable clock speed. Unfortunately it is all trial and error until it works. And have you tried Impact 32-bit?

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/new...tor-ladder-dacs.853902/page-282#post-14973410

Looking at that old thread it is evident Impact SW v14.6 sucks on Win 10 machines. And everyone has a different problem. My suggestion is to try older PC OS like Win 7 or even Win XP.

Thanks for the tips! I have tried Windows 7 and Windows 10, also from personal computers and from a laptop, for 32 and 64 digits. I always see the error previously mentioned in the message. Now I do not know what to do next. It is possible that the Xilinx driver failed to load because the blaster is not identified as Xilinx in the list of USB devices. If anyone can forward the driver for Xilinx blaster, I will be very grateful!
