So I am looking for a headphone for $600(I have a FiiO E11 for an amp but if I need them with a amp then add that into the $600 because I can't really go a tick over $600 and I dont have a DAC either.) So I have Grado SR80's right now and I went to the Sony Store a couple of hours ago and tried on the MDR-V6's and then came home and starte listening to music on my Grado's. I suddenly noticed that highs are harsh and they are in fact in your face. So I am looking for a laid back headphone that does well with rock, electronic, folk, and indie. I also want them to be very comfortable. Thanks for the help guys! I will probably still use my Grado's sometimes though.

And I want them to be open. And im thinking to get the HE-400's or the HD600's.

HE-400 are excellent headphones and are steal for their money and will work for you but what is your source, where you connecting E11 to?

Im plugging the E11 into a iPod because I dont have a DAC.

In your case than you can't do much cause there are just few portable DAC/AMPs which can bypass iPod's DAC but they cost more than $500 and I don't know if E17 will be improvement to E11 in sound quality but it gives you tone controls so you can adjust bass and treble to your liking depending on the recording while E11 has just bass boost. Regarding headphones HE-400 are the way to go plus make sure you order velour pads. More questions ask in main HE-400 thread here

I am planning to buy a HRT MusicStreamer II and use it with my PC. That will work right? So the MusicStreamer II and the FiiO E11 with the HE400?

I never heard Music Streamer so can't comment how good it is but it will do the job whilr if you can stretch your budget I would recommend AudioQuest DragomFly which could be used 2 ways as DAC/AMP in one (no E11 needed and it is much better than E11) or as DAC only so you can add an AMP of your choice at any time such as Asgard for example. I read in main HE-400 thread that 2 people currently use DragonFly with HE-400 and like it

Would the HE400 be the best for $600? Because I want a really analytic sound that plays it exactly how the artist would've want you to hear it. All my music is in FLAC. What about the AKG Q601? Any other suggestions to headphones that aren't really colored? Are the HE400's colored?

Are you sure Q601? You probably mean Q701 which needs good amp? I don't think HE-400 are analytical but they are not colored either. I would rather get HE-400 and use saved money on Dragonly than spend more money on headphones and end getting cheap DAC or no DAC and stick just with E11

Yea because hifiman says the ohms of the HE400 are 35. So they would sound good with a fiio e11 for now and then some schiit later. Well after reading some reviews on multiple headphones I think the HE400 are the ones for me. One last question.how do these fare with electronic music?

Hifiman HE-400 with Fiio E10 when you're using the computer. Ipod/phone -> E11 -> HE400 when using that.
 
Alternatives: Beyer DT880, Denon D2000, Sennheiser HD600, AudioTechnica A900X, Ultrasone PRO 2900, AKG Q701.
 
I would not bother sticking to the $600 max budget. I would go into the $300~400 range headphones and keep it simple with a Fiio E10 DAC/AMP or use an AV receiver if you already have one. At the $600 budget, you can save more and go high-end. But ultimately unless you're already easily going to afford that, you shouldn't bother, and just stick to the middle road and save your money for other things.

Which would you think would be the best headphones for me? Im looking for them to be open and good with folk, electronic, and rock. I also want them to be very comfy. And I will get a FiiO E10,
