1000+ Head-Fier
I'm also considering a used Violectric HPA V200 if I don't get the Woo Audio. Can anyone offer advice on how good this V200 is and how pairs with Alpha Primes?
Thx.

I am running a V200 with AP in my nightstand system and Inreally like the sound. I think they complement each other quite nice.

i have the primes for some days now and fuel them with iphone and hifi m8 through cck. first days i like a lot about the sound. good separation, lots of energy, air but voices were a little recessed and i felt that i heard that better on cheaper phones. today i realized that on each driver there were two doggie treats installed from the previous owner. i removed them and today i love the sound. same energy but better highs and voices.
bass is very impressing aswell. on most tracks i use one level of bass boost on the m8 and it kicks. comfort is very good aswell but if you are sensitive like me you will feel pressure around your ears after some hours. pads are very soft so i guess it will hurt just to a very few people.
so far i am very satisfied with the most expensive headphone/dac/amp combo I ever had. this is far above the B&W P7 and Sony 7520, the best headphones I had before. so thank you head-fi and the people in this thread emptying my wallet and filling my ears with very fine tunes.

I wonder if Dan sends some of them out with the treats pre-fitted.
Edit: he does. I've just discovered a couple in mine. It didn't occur to me to check until I read all these posts about distant vocals.

wow, that surprises me a lot. wouldn't have thought these are preinstalled. I still like them better without but it might be my brain messing with me telling me things I like to hear right now that is always the worst part about new headphones - you can't trust your own brain...
I have dots installed but no doggie treats. Both of my treats(two sets) are still in the box they came in (unless those are extras)
