After weeks of indecision, I've narrowed it down to these two setups.

I like the flexibility of the Dacmini, but I also love what I hear about the M-Stage amp.

I'm interested in good bass extension and crystal clear highs (I'm more of a musical guy than a neutral person)

Would anyone here happen to have some experience with either or both?

greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, I plan on running my active monitors (NHT M-00s) and my Denon D2000s and I'm looking to purchase some LCD2 or the high model Sony XBs in the future (can't remember the model number right now).

Hi Roker!!!

There is a very long discussion on the sound of DACmini here:

Also if you have any specific technical questions, feel free to send me a message!

ok, here's a quick and easy one:

When I plug in headphones, will my RCA output cut out?

and

a tough one:

Why did you guys go with a fixed output?  Would I be better off getting it turned into a variable output or buy a potentimeter for my speakers?

I just talked to one of my favorite audio dealers and I could be getting this by tomorrow.

I PM'd those questions as I might send it in for the mod in the future.

Will anyone with an M-Stage/MSII+ combo try to talk me out of this?

CEntrance does offer a "varaiable output" mod. See here --> http://www.centrance.com/products/dacmini/

Well unless someone wants to send me their M-Stage/MSII+ combo, this is looking like a CEntrance Dacmini show.

Just made my purchase at an authorized dealer.

I've been trying to sell my Keces 151 dac, but no one it budging (plenty of interest though)

This is looking like a Keces vs Centrance DacMini right now and let me tell you this, this Keces has been the victor in a lot of shootoffs, so this could get interesting.
