Great advice here. I’ll add that the BlackCat has a small boost to mids, which can be good or bad depending on your needs. PurpleSE is probably my favourite sounding budget cable, out of far too many. Like Carpet said, only buy NiceHCK cables in sales. All three he suggested should be under $20 each.

Sounds like you might want to get a pure silver cable. Xinhs are trustworthy and do one in your price range.

It does depend what he is currently using - if it’s a bad cable, it may be reducing treble. In that case he may just need a simple nice quality copper or silver plated copper.

Some of my pure copper cables.
Different terminations for different IEMs and headphones. 2-pin, MMCX, 2x3.5mm so can't really compare soundwise. If I can even hear any
XINHS 4 Core 6N Single Crystal Copper is AFAIK the most expensive pure copper cable from XINHS. It was mentioned as bright here with Final B3+Hugo 2

The XINHS and Hakugei Rice are the most premium feeling.
Lunashops 16 core has the softest handling. Makes sense for a 16 core vs 4 and 8.
NiceHCK GCT5 feels like the thickest one, but I believe due to insulation being thicker than XINHS. Not more copper.
Hakugei Rice was thinner than I expected.
The 8 core NiceHCK PurpleSE and Orangesir handles similarly. Orangesir seems slightly thicker.
Stickiest rubber coating: 1. XINHS, 2. GCT5 and Hakugei. 3. PurpleSE and OrangeSir 4. Lunashops.
The hardware on Hakugei is smaller than the others, preferable if you want a light and less clumsy cable.
They are all nice cables.

I am looking for a good cable for IEM (2 pin). From my understanding, Copper gives a warmer sound, Silver or silver plated ones are lil more airy. I prefer the former.

There are serious discounts on ivipq. They have slightly different working styles, you can negotiate. They also do customizations to the cables, I ordered one and am waiting. I have nicehck purplese and silverse and ynuoo, waiting for ibipq. If they are as good as they look, I can shift my cable orders to ivipq.
