I want to get some over ear, closed  headphones for my iPod and computer. Looking for headphones that work well with rap and hip hop that have a good amount of bass that isn't overpowering. But they also have to have some style cuz I'm 15.
Headphones I've looked at:
audio technica ath m-50
v moda crossfade lp/lp2
ultrasone hfi 580
numark red wave
 
Any suggestions or comments?

If your computer only has built in audio, get the Asus Xonar DG ($24) or DGX ($40) sound card.
The Xonar will improve the sound over any built in audio.
 
Sony MDR-V6 headphones.
(Way under your budget)

Those aren't stylish. He's 15 and wants some aesthetics.

IF you could deal with on ear, the ES7 is the epitome of sexy, just make sure to buy them off an authorized dealer.

The white M50s also are quite a fashion statement, though are JUST over your budget.

actually i don't think the ultrasone hfi 580 look to bad but i heard they can be uncomfortable

Apple computers usually come with decent audio support.
So try plugging your headphones straight into the Mac.

i forgot to ask do the ultrasone hfi-580 isolate sound well and do they leak much

I'm not even sure anyone makes add-on sound card for Mac? maybe specialised ones for audio mixing?
If you were getting a 300-Ohm headphones, then you would want to add an external headphone amplifier.
or to increase audio quality, an external DAC, Digital to Analog Converter (hooked between your Mac and the external amplifier).

They don't leak at all, really. At least I never noticed when my friend listened to them. Their isolation is okay. Not amazing, but they do a pretty decent job of blocking out noise.

Ultrasone also makes what is basically a black and white version of the HFI-580's called the Ultrasone DJ1's, which to me look cooler than the HFI-580's.

can i ask what kind of cord an accessories the headphones come with

The HFI-580's come with a soft pouch, 1/4" adapter, and a sample CD. The cable it has is like a 10 foot straight cable.
 
Can't comment one what the DJ1's come with, since I haven't owned them, but I'd imagine it'd be the same.
