List of DACs that work with iPad

Of course, CCK or Lightning to USB is a lot cheaper than an MFi DAC

Looks like it works with the iPad with CCK on iOS6. Crossing fingers it works with iOS7.

And a confirmation that the iPad CCK works with the Herus on IOS 6.1.2. I've not upgraded my iPad yet. This is the iPad 3 :-

Their accessories dept is not next to their iPad section so unfortunately can't demo this at the store. Unfortunately I don't have any Lightning supported h/w therefore no accessories either. In addition I think the Apple staff will freak out when I plug a device without the "Made for iPad" stamp on it ;).

I'd test for you, but I don't have a CCK or external DAC to test with my iPhone 5S.

I dunno what the official policy is... Dock connector stuff could be different, but people plug in their own headphones to iDevices all the time at our local store. I'll ask... they might ask back "why would you plug in an external DAC?" (none at my store are audio buffs like me), but I'll just see if they would mind trying :)

Pico DAC works with lightning CCK on iPhone 5s or the iPad mini with iOS 7, without the need for a powered hub. The upsampling DAC does a great job of jitter rejection with the CCK, and is an excellent choice.

[edit - tried this with my son's iPhone 5 and CCK still works with Pico DAC when using iOS 7 and no powered hub is needed.]

At my local Apple store, I did just such a test.
I brought a Lightning to USB adapter, USB cable, DAC/amp, and IEMs. The employees there were cool with it. You should ask just to be sure there is no anti theft issue going on. Don't want to set of an inadvertant alarm.

Still, haven't picked a DAC, or been entirely convinced of substantial improvement. Suggestions?

Hey guys!

Will the FiiO E07K's DAC work with the iPad2 running iOS7 with the CCK [Camera Connection Kit]? If it does, I will just cancel my order for L9 xD

Can anybody confirm whether the Leckerton UHA-6sII works with the iPhone5 and iPad4 (running IOS 7.0.2) via CCK? Do you you need a USB Hub in between?

Sorry if it's already been covered elsewhere in this thread.

Thanks! How I wish it works with iPhone 4 and the original version xD I think I might as well go for the CCK instead of LOD?
