We think alike - I have suggested that if they're going to charge 4 grand for the top end models, that they should also come with a suggested EQ preset based on what their HATS measures, in order to meet the Audeze house target as well, and on a per serial number basis.
and left and right differential eq, LOL. Or a individually tuned DPS, or wait... a headphone that for 4 grand doesn't need eq? that would be awesome, and of course, 10 year warranty minimum minimum at that price...

Every single headphone can benefit from some EQ. A 10-year warranty is an outrageous request. Only company that offers a super long warranty is ZMF and they do a completely different thing than Audeze does. Audeze is at the forefront of developing planar magnetic driver technology and now, corrective DSP for studio use. State-of-the-art gaming headphones and more. This is what you pay for when you buy an Audeze.

10 year warranty mate, like a Herman Miller chair. My Adam cheap speakers are 5 year warranty.

for 4 grand?? give a proper warranty, otherwise it's the forefront of nothing.

Koss does a lifetime warranty as well, though aside from their electrostatic model they‘re all super-inexpensive.

I didn’t realize that about Koss. Nice! I still don’t really think Koss is on the same level as Audeze. But that’s certainly pretty great that they offer that!

I think we’ve had this conversation before. But something with a .5 micron by 10.6 centimetre film that moves thousands of times per second is not the same as a… chair.

I never had any conversation in this website. Certainly not, the chair has 10 years warranty and costs 3 times less and it is not a lottery when you purchase it. All the chairs are the same, not the LCD, so certainly not the same, you are right there. Also no need to EQ the chair. Comes eq'ed from factory.

LOL. My Washing machine cannot reach the RPM of my car's V8 engine. So it is a crap washing machine. I want my money back. And ten more years of warranty.

You’re a funny dude. I think it’s a little more nuanced than comparing a headphone to a chair…. I agree that companies should offer the longest warranty possible. But I can’t agree with arbitrary numbers (10 years) which is not what their competition is doing at all.

In regards to EQ: all headphones need EQ. Audeze has been transparent about their philosophy on this. They may be able to achieve a more conventional tonal balance but at the cost of perceived technical performance.

In regards to consistency… no one really knows if its bad or how bad it is as Audeze revises so frequently. I agree companies should strive for consistency but Audeze seems to be addressing this as they have stated they plan to release measurements,

Definitely would not mind a lighter LCD-X with the new tuning. Heck, if it has proper bass response (better than the GX), I'd probably love it.

I just think it’s funny to be against anyone’s thoughts on longer warranty length as a consumer. I’m all for longer warranties…3…5…10….15 year or more. I can sign up for all of them…any increase benefits me. I don’t care about company’s competition.

I’m not against it. But, it’s just so random. Sennheiser, focal, HifiMan all offer shorter warranties than Audeze and these are their main competition. Why would they offer a longer warranty? I’d love for them to offer a lifetime warranty on their drivers. But they can do whatever they want… I still own their product. I also think they have much bigger fish to fry. They need to make it easier for their users to get their headphones to “neutral”. The fact that they sell headphones with mediocre tuning that cost thousands of dollars and then do not offer options to correct it is, in my opinion, kind of annoying and should dissuade people from purchasing.
