Same here.

I REALLY dig these. They are heavy, well solid, and I like the feel, it's like sitting in a big cozy chair. I really don't like how light Grados feel; crazy I know. The sound is warm and milky smooth on the Matrix mini-I. All around, I am very happy with them.

I don't find it heavy, probably I'm used to my W5000. It is very comfort, no head clamp like Senn and not heavy like W5000. The bass is way more than I remember from meet, probably it is not as quiet as home.

Well compared to a Grado they are heavy, but I agree, they aren't too heavy; perfect in fact.

The key is not to go directly from one headphone to the other. This will just make them both sound wrong

Start fresh with the DX1000 and don't switch back and forth during any given listening session.

Agreed, almost every instant switch makes me go What in a bad way, it takes some time to adjust to tonal range, my junior expertise is so adorable

This is the only headphone I want.Actually I want the dx700 because it looks way better and I read it has tighter bass.I am saving right now for one and I am pretty close to collect the funds but I will probably get it in summer.I can give it to Skylab for some time to compare it to dx1000 because there is no review for them on headfi! We'll see what happens.

Yup I generally dedicate a day ot each headphone... So the ears get tuned in correctly. If it can hold the interest a whole day without you reaching for another sound signature or feeling boored you are onto something.

DAC19 doesn´t mate well at all with the DX 1000 so far though... Feels like something extraordinary will have to happen with more burn in. Supposed to have 100h from factory though... It has thick not that detailed bass on any of my headphones not even the 435S. It gives more body to the Ultrasones. Make them be more DX 1000 like in that regard actually but it just get way to much bass with the DX 1000 and I get resonances I remember from my old Canamp days which also was bassy. And it increases the darkness of it. Heck even my 900 got turned slightly to the dark side.

Looks like it will be Keces dac for the DX 1000 and then alternating for my other to headphones perhaps. Not saying it sounds crap out of the DAC19 but I dunno this DAC is as "neutral" as people suggest it´s? Feels like there is some audiophile thingies going on to make it warm, lush and soft but maybe I am a treble head. My speakers also get a slight boominess in the bass with this so need some equalizing for those as well.

Skylab is totally right. If I switch from the HD800 to the DX1000 or D7000 both sound just too dark and compressed. You need to let your ears and brain clear for a little bit before going to the next can.

Right - and I find the reverse can be equally true - going from the D7000 or DX1000 to the HD800 can make it seem too bright at first. You really do have to allow for adjustment time, either way, unless you are actually trying to determine the differences
