Can the iBasso SR2 headband be purchased separately? It looks nice on the DX1000.

Is there any other headband + gimbals that could replace the DX1000's standard plastic ones?
No, it's not available separately, but it is quite decent function and quality wise. I really lucked into getting 2 of them, then got Vesper to mod them up a bit to get them to fit my DX1000s and my OG HiFiMAN HE-6s.

Others that fit are the Denon D2/5/7000, Fostex, and anything else that is that size category. All the Beyers. But they also require some work. It more so comes down to your handiness (or access to Vesper, haha), I hadn't found a straight drop in. I was really banking on the D2000 whole headband assembly for a while, as some other owners had done that before. But I ended up doing it this way as I got a bunch of other mods done at the same time, and lucked into getting the SR-2 headband.

JVC HA-DX1000 Old Pads Vs. New Pads

Clearly, the old pads have 'puffed' out and become thicker than brand new pads.
_DSC0001.jpg_DSC0002.jpg_DSC9998.jpg_DSC9999.jpg

Now, the big question: How much does the sound change?
- Actually, not so much.

If there are any differences, I don't think I hear them.
If anything, the bass might be a smidge tighter more textured and possibly more authoritative, and the treble might be a touch smoother.
I think the reduced pad depth should help with taming treble slightly, as wider distance from the ear can contribute to 'louder' treble in many other cases.

But really, it sounds like pretty much the same headphone overall.
So, the good news is, even if your pads are looking like hot sweaty garbage, they probably still sound good!

totally weird it doesn´t affect the sound. Astonishingly weird. My pads don´t look any better then yours but I still kind of like it.
How about isolation have you measured that if you get more leak with the old pads :)

Easy,

Hi, does any one over here had/has dx700 & dx1000 at the same time or has some knowledge. Same drivers?

I just know, different headband padding lesser, quality cable ..What about wood ? Sound in general ?

Appreciated,

I've never done isolation measurements.
I'd need a pretty good isolation chamber for that sort of thing, and I'm really not interested in taking those measurements.

All I can offer is the other common measurement data in REW, although I wouldn't put too much stock into it, since it's measured with a minDSP EARS.

Appreciated,
From the photos I've studied online, DX1000 has transparent (likely mylar) diaphragms.
The DX700 driver photos I've seen, the diaphragm is a semi-transparent black/grey colour.

Also the DX700 appears to have a lighter colour, and therefore possibly thicker, piece of damping material covering the central rear driver vent - this is the piece that has a 4-digit code printed on it.

As mentioned in this post - https://www.head-fi.org/threads/jvc-hp-dx1000-owners-unite.219744/post-12236681
(in this same thread)
The cables are different.
DX700 has a 4N-OFC cable terminated with a metal plug.
DX1000 has a 7N-OFC cable terminated with a wooden-housing plug.

I'd love to hear and measure a DX700 or DX2000 one day to see if there are any differences.
