I believe it is recently, the German version HA-DX1000 is selling for 400 Euro but it is no longer available. The HP-DX1000 is around $1000 US.

Passiontec where I got them don´t list them anymore, neither do ep-netshop... Can´t find them with pricerunner. When I emailed they mention their supplier had a few available so maybe I got one of the last DA 1000s available.... Jeeeesus what luck in such case

That is the exact answer I got too, but they also mentions that JVC may stop the production of DX1000 (maybe just the HA-DX1000 version).
