I'll post next week. Anyway I just stuff a few on the rear cup.
Also, I tamed/controlled the bass by putting some thin layer of foam behind the driver. I'm almost where I want it to sound :) Tunable Orthos rocks :) Here's to the Ortho Ninjas - Kampai!!!

When I get bored I might just try something like the Leakypants :)

ah well, maybe that works if you change the cups...but I think I'll stick to the stock clamping and earpads. This phone is really as semi-DIY as can get, like "ok the drivers rock, now it's your own problem to make it sound good".

got pics?

It's somewhere there in the Ortho Round-up mega-thread and I believe this is the first one:

basically an open T50RP.
You can do an advanced search on the full headphones thread.

Have we ever actually heard any impressions of how the open ones worked out?

I don't think that I've heard anything about it actually sounding good open... looks nice, though.

ah, the female 1/8" jack in the left cup is really crap, sometimes it would cut the right channel...I've soldered the cable directly onto the left driver, micro-details have become much clearer :)

I don't think there's been any detailed impressions from Kabeer or Smeggy (the two I know have tried it) just that it didn't work out too well. No idea though as I haven't heard them. It'd be worth a shot especially if you can get them tuned right.

Just recently got Fischer Audio's DBA-02 - it will help me tune the T50RPs bass :)

x2.  Once you get the DBA dialed in fit wise, damn good reference haha.  Imagine if Fisher made an ortho?

Perhaps the LCD2 and TPs are close enough.

it's like colorimetry...the human brain will easily compensate for a D50 or D93 display, but once you've tried a perfectly calibrated D65/2.3 display they look horrid in comparison.

I have to admit that the CD900ST has clearly shown me what neutral means...to me it sounded like the headphones version of the NS10M monitors. Flat, uncolored and a perfect monitoring tool...but don't try to enjoy music off them, though...that's really not their goal.
