and you found it OK ! Way too sparkly for me vs speaker taps amp signature which is just right.
I find the LM4562 one only good with certain cans. Wish I could fit/sample Muse 01/02 but voltage too high and no space for their style.

Does anyone here have any feeling whether it's worth getting the Mad Dogs 3.2 if one already has a pair of t50rp modded to dbv3?

I'm not asking for a quality judgement on their sound but I would like to know if they're different enough so that it makes sense having both.

Yeah E12 is undoubtedly your best bet in that price range.  I have one and the high gain setting gives the t50rp plenty of juice/volume.

How is the treble as it is on your T50's un-amped ...recessed/flat/accented ? My T50's can run off my Macbook Air + speaker amp + Altoid but in the case of the altoid treble is too etched.So power is not the main issue ....E12 gets mixed reviews on treble, I guess due to audio chain synergy.

Tbh I don't here much difference in the treble switching between the x3 unamped and the x3 feeding my e12. Biggest differences is better clarity and fuller and more controlled bass.

On my pair I'd describe the treble pretty flat and smooth.

FIY I got my e12 brand new from an eBay seller putting in a best offer for $88. I'm very pleasantly surprised by it's performance.

I've had my T50RP for about 2 weeks now, and I've already begun to dissect them and make them mine! >
 
Bondo'd. I primered them later with automitive primer and filler.
I used automotive paint and clear coat (like 5 coats of clear)
And some carbon fiber vinyl wrap for the center. The holes for the headband are cut through with an exacto knife, it should pop through with no problem.
This edited picture represents the color of them better than the others.

 
Don't mind the blue-tiger-strpied effect in the pictures, my camera's lens causes that. Junk.
 
I'll be installing Hifiman connectors on them in the near future.

I'm personally going to keep the very small piece of memory foam on and not the thicker piece, because I like a flavored sound. 
 

 

 
Having it with this configuration will make these things awesome for dubstep and EDM without being too bass heavy. The Treble is bright and the mids are only slightly recessed.
 
Stacked in this order:
 
memory foam (you choose how much)
thin plastic X that sits on the corner screws of the driver and isn't actually sitting ON the driver, just hovering over it.
white tac holding it on and surrounding the driver
driver
 
The cups are dampened with Dynamat Extreme, vents are totally sealed off with Bondo, and I'm using Shure 840 pads.
Terminated to dual SMC connectors for use with Hifiman cables.
 

 

If you keep this big chunk of memory foam on them, they get more neutral sounding. I don't have a way to measure the sound though, so that's just by ear.
