Just found my Roxanne cable was imbalanced today (sometimes only left side had sound sometimes right), anybody got the same issue?
Not sure this is under warranty, in contacting with repairs.
If not, maybe it's a good time to upgrade the cable? Does anybody know any manufacturer do balanced ones?

Earphone Solutions has a balanced Roxanne cable with 2.5mm termination for the AK240. It's exactly the same as the original except for the termination.

I use this cable with my AK240. Seems to have opened up the soundstage.

I wonder if they could make one for the 901 termination as well (I don't think it's the same as the AK240, is it?)

Double Helix Cables makes ultra-short adapters to convert just about anything to anything else:

I have ordered AK240 to HM901 and the reverse. I also ordered balanced-cabled IEM to single-ended device adapters for both terminations.

Thanks @BRCMRGN, this is quite a good idea since I also have AK240, can you describe more the sound difference when balanced? Is it possible to do a A/B comparison?
Thanks you!

So far, no aftermarket cable....I wish get DHC cable for my Roxanne.

I second that!! I'm on Peter at DHC like white on rice!!
My cousin Kenny is getting a pair of DHC cable for his JH-13 Freqphase.

I'm psyched to hear what sonic feats DHC opens up in my already-astounding Roxannes!

I found a great USB DAC/Amp complement to my Roxy's while on vacation out East a few weeks ago:
The HRT microStreamer! I brought the MS w/ me as it's always come in handy when I just need a DAC ahead
of something...

The synergy was sonically superb!
Playing Recondite's Hinterland  - the bottom end was so punchy and defined, I swore I coulda been listening to one of my desktop headphone amps! The mids were also detailed and velvety. Radiohead sounded dynamic and as airy as I've heard using CIEMs. Also the new Tori Amos - the (what I refer to as): emotive transference was heavy. I'm a big Tori fan, seen her live a bunch of times, and this combination captured the emotive power of the nuance in her vocal better than any other USB DAC/Amp in this same style category that I've heard!!

HIGHLY recommended!

Maybe, If I give peter to my stock cable(rox), THEN he can change to his AWESOME silver cable....AFTER that I'll be happy.
This might work..

I got my DHC cable for my JH16 (non-fq).  I love it!! I got copper cable, but it's PURRFECT combo!  Now my next project is HD800.
I'm looking for Compliment 3 or 4.  Balance 3 pin with 1/4 adapter.

I agree that the Microstreamer has an oustanding DAC.  Unfortunately, it's not suitable as a DAC/Amp combo with the Roxannes.  It's way too noisy.  I've currently got mine set up with the Leckerton UHA-6A MKII amp, which is an excellent combo.

However, I recently had the chance to audition an iBasso DX90, and came away extremely impressed.  DAC performance was excellent, with the clear crisp sound Sabre DAC chips are known for.  The amp was also a perfect fit for IEMs.  On low gain mode it was dead silent with the Roxannes.  UI and gapless playback worked perfectly.  I'm sold.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.  I actually had this in a desk drawer unused for over a year, took it out for grins and surprisingly it's better than my $850 Concero HP.  A bit more detailed, airy, tighter bass.  The only thing I can think of is the Concero having that 2.2 output impedance, but it also handily slaughters the DragonFly (2 v1.2s and 1 v1.0), as well as a Meridian Explorer.  It's literally next-level up stuff, must be some sort of freaky synergy.

I've enjoyed it in the past, but never found it performant like this before.

Mine is nearly dead silent - I need to turn it up about 3x comfortable listening level (about 1/2 way up my MBP volume slider) before hiss is perceptible.

I *did* just upgrade the firmware recently and noticed terrible hiss upon plugging in, but that was because the system volume slider was pegged afterward.

After just receiving my CF Custom Roxannes today (BF order!) I can start to post on this thread.

I've owned JH13's since 2009 and I can say I'm happy about the treble being more present than I feared from others reviews.

Fit feels great and listening to another Siren on my DX90 to Hugo, I can say that 'I feel Love' - Donna Summer.

Congrats JHA on a great product, with delivery just a little later than expected.

Regards
