Lotoo Paw Gold Screen Replacement & Servicing

The screen required can be found by searching for "1.77 inch 45Pin OLED Screen".
There are 2 types of screens which come up for this so make sure that it is the one with the narrow connector and not a wide one ie.

If you don't have a clean room you can work in, you can undertake the required work in a bathroom after running hot water. The moisture in the air reduces the amount of floating dust the inside of your electronics may be exposed to. The same is true if you have to apply screen protectors.
In the absence of both of these, keep a cotton bud to hand to wipe away any dust which settles on your screen or the inside of the sapphire glass.

To replace the screen follow these steps:

Simply do the reverse of the above steps to reassemble the player.
My screen had taken on a washed out view with ghosting. The results aren't so clear in photos but the difference is apparent nevertheless;

With respect to the battery, there only appears to be one manufacturer for the battery used in The LPG and the exact battery can be found on their site here:

Unfortunately they only currently deal with bulk commercial orders, not individual consumers however I've put in a query through one of my companies and will update when I get some information regarding minimum orders and pricing. I've not found any consumer resellers for the battery as yet.

Hope the above is helpful. Any queries, let me know.

Thanks very much. That's very helpful and appreciated.

I am also interested in the battery if there will be any chance in the future.

@SabreToothBunny , what a precise and revealing expose’ on replacing the PAW Gold screen! Right down to what to buy (saves $$$ shipping from China) and which size Phillips screwdriver to use. I wish O’d had this when I tried to replace my display with one shipped from Lotoo. They did kindly send me a video.

In both their case and yours, the hard part for me is disengaging the black flat fixing clip with a flat head screwdriver. Directions on from what direction, and on which edge to pry, are still a mystery to me.

In hindsight, I should have taken a photo of that display connector undone.

Anyhow, that socket is a type of SMD Molex connector. Although I wrote using a screwdriver, I use my nail.
Where the very dark brown strip is, it hinges upwards from the bottom. Once flipped, the display flexi-cable is released and can be removed from the other side of the socket.

This video should make it clear how to undo that type of connector;

Hello guys.
Finally, to my great joy, mine came to me Lotoo Paw Gold 2017.
And a few words about it. I bought from here carried from Canada. But the seller decided to save money and sent it by ship without a tracker. He claimed that he would arrive in 2 weeks. I waited for him for as many as 6 weeks, an unpleasant feeling of loss appeared and there was no tracker to find, well, I thought everything was gone, but little hope remained. It's good that everything ended well. And then I live in central Europe and the package would have reached further east a big question. And from the same Canada flew to me Cowon in 4 days I was with me. That's the difference!
And a few photos of handsome:
p.s. Sounds fantastic!!!

LPG doesn't have the most scratch resistant finish. It would be kind of cool to see a DAP with a Teflon finish. Also, what is the approximate burn-in time for the LPG 2017?

Well, I can definitely hear adjustments on the parametric equalizer at the twenty thousand Hertz level. I'm wondering if this means I actually have good hearing?

I use HD650 headphones. They get power to ear-splitting levels

How difficult is it to take off and replace the topmost part that houses the volume knob?
