Planar IEM's are next up.... I'm terrible at keeping secrets.

I have a planar iem, that would be a great way to go. I see quite a few of the small iem planar drivers on chinese sites now. I'm tempted to make one myself
The ones I've seen have all been pretty cheap as well. Toneking I believe made it. Have you seen any others to consider. I'm definitely not after anything like Audeze make.

The RHA CL2 seem interesting. Definitely not cheap though.
Also the MEE x Massdrop Planamic, an experimental combination of dynamic and planar as the name suggests.

Ah. I thought it was just a dynamic tuned to sound like a planar.
You are right, I wrote from memory. I just checked out the page and it’s a modified dynamic driver as you say, so scratch that.

So far, my experience is opposite of everyone else. I'm enjoying the V1 more than V2. More open sounding and less driver flex. I think with more time, they will both be about the same except for the driver flex. My V1 set was in phase when I received it..

I just received the V2 that I didn't need - I loved the V1 they were in phase and everything. I decided to try them anyway - I've got about 20 mins of listening as I write this but they sound like ass compared to my V1 , I am hoping it's due to burn-in, the bass and treble sound off. They seem to be in phase however. Either way it doesn't matter that much to me but was just interested if others had a similar experience and was the issue rectified with burn-in?

Just got a pair of N5005 in for some comparisons to other gear I'm currently listening to, and initial impressions are that the Zenith beats it quite noticeably in terms of bass texture, detail retrieval and tone. Shouldn't be a huge surprise given the price/performance ratio of the original R1, but definitely a good endorsement of the R1Z as a serious contender.
