I'm starting it here... Sennheiser IE8 vs. Westone 3

So check it out:

HeadRoom must have recently tested the IE8 because the last time I looked I didn't any graphs for it. Also interesting is that they removed graphs for the SE530, the triple.fi 10, the ER-4, and several others (which makes me think they may be in the process of retesting them).

So I don't really know what to make of this. I do like that the frequencies above 200 Hz seem to be affected very little by the bass adjustment knob.

Does this graph seem about right for how it sounds to you who have the IE8?

Is that hump between 30 Hz and 300 Hz distracting/overpowering or not so much? That was my only concern, because above 1 kHz looks perfect for me.

no not at all. at least not to me anywayz. you can ask a few other members who also own the IE8 as well.

Actually, come to think of it, from what I remember the SE530 graph looked very similar in that region. It shouldn't be a problem.

I have close to 200 hours on my IE8s and find the bass very enjoyable, and I have it cranked up a few notches.

By the way, if anyone wants to buy the 10 pair of tips and the ear hooks that came with the IE8s, PM me. (hope it's ok for me to post this

So what is the "best" way to burn a dynamic phone in?

I've been told pink noise works, but is there a "right" or "better" way?

from what i heard pink noise is the fastest way to go. i've been just using a steady dose of high volume music from my ipod. right now i'm listening to my IE8 through my desktop. playing Daft Punk all FLAC

I just use music but I would think white noise would be better than pink noise since the amplitude remains constant regardless of frequency whereas pink noise varies the amplitude.
