iFi Audio IPurifier3.0
May 27, 2022 at 5:18 PM Post #393 of 442
Hello @iFi audio and other audiophile members, I am using Diablo with ifi purifier 3 and same issue as other post mentioned here. The data LED does not light up. The sound is coming through fine. Not sure if the ipurifier is working correctly.

If you're getting sound but that LED is off, most likely it's dead. Is there a way you could try your iPurifier3 with another DAC product by any chance? Thanks!

Same for other DACs. Do you mean the LED is dead or the purifier?

The LED. Trust me, from experience you'd know if it wasn't working because it either does, or does not. There is no "passing through" the sound and bypassing the ANC.

That's correct. iPurifier needs power to work, so data won't go through it if it's disengaged. Thanks!

Anybody who has this iPurifier3, DDC and a DAC. Please connect to the DDC, not DAC.

It made my Aryas more liquidy/wet, better mids and more open highs I think, but the liquidy sound is definitly new

Has iFi ever clarified, what this does to the digital transfer process?

Does it really reclock or what sort of process is this?

The IP3 is cleaning up the signal noise that is infecting your system through USB. Re-clocking simply creates a stable stream (no drop-outs, pops or clicks).

Ok. But I dont like this thing directly on DAC:
RME DAC FS
iFi Diablo
Chord TT2

I have not tried it on R8 yet but wont either.

It does something to the DDC that is good, may be a placebo, but the liquidy sound has never happened before. Maybe its my DAC opening up I dont know.

a better digital stream will generally translate to better imaging and panning clearer dialogue and better bass etc...

it isnt placebo..

of course the worse the feed, it can go from, subtle improvements to 'basically essential'

I have several of these due to audio improvements noticed.
this is the first config that basically needed an iPurifier in place..

My Susvara did not like it like Arya V2. Susvara became very dull sounding. It was holding it back.

But AryaV2 was on another level than before. Saturated snares, floating, liquidy cans sound

Your DAC is getting a nicer stream to work on from your DDC and that is what you're experiencing

Yeah only for Arya. Susvara sounds like they are the dullesr headphone ever.

I took it out of my chain again. Susvara came back to life. Susvara did gain this liquidy sound from it but gor duller at the same time.

Gonna experiment with ifi powerstation again. I have passive/matrix2 strip
