Two Questions

  • Any issue when using the Go Blu as a Wired USB DAC/AMP for PC?
  • Can you use the Go Blu as a "WIRED" Dongle with your Phone?

Nope!

Nope! Now with the latest update it works on iPhone too!

I can confirm it now works wired.
The only problem remaining for iPhone is the maxing out of volume after pausing whatever media app you use and lock it.it goes back to max volume and it blows your eas

Happy to report we are looking into this and will hopefully be fixed ASAP.

Have you tried re-setting your network settings? I have had similar problems with Bluetooth devices in the past and that often fixes them.
I just got my go blu and have been very careful because of your post but it has never happened.

Tried, didn't work. It seems to be mismatch between system Vol and the GoBlu vol after stopping media playback. The iPhone one is where it should be but the GoBlu one is at Max

For me, a big part of it is the internal battery on these devices (BTR5, UP5, etc). When you disable charging, it doesn't drain your smartphone battery or cause errors on an iPhone (for too much power draw) in USB mode.

What @ClieOS wrote is correct, GO blu was designed as a BT DAC/amp. For those who enjoy wired connections we have a number of other products :)

Any news when this is coming to Japan?

If it's not available there yet, it's a matter of days.

From the bottom of my heart, I really hope people will stop buying BT headphone adapter and believe it will turn out to be great USB headphone adapter / dongle for smartphone. It usually won't.

You should just buy a great USB headphone dongle instead if that's what you want.
Insread i only have like..lets see..maybe at least 5,the best ones, so what..
From the bottom of my heart i would suggest that if an option is there it is to be explored and there's nothing wrong with comparing the sound to other products with same options/category.
Even better, how about keeping the product clearer to all and offer it cheaper just as a BT dongle and nothing else😉

why do you hope so passionately? What happens if someone actually enjoys their BT headphone adapter and believe them to be great values? Why should you care? Really interested in your thoughts. Thanks!

I am not saying a BT headphone adapter can't be used as a decent USB DAC/amp on a pinch, just that most BT headphone adapters are designed first and foremost to be used with its BT capability and the USB function is more like a bonus feature that tag along. Therefore unavoidably there will be some compromise that can't be overcome, may them be size, battery life, output power, or sampling rate. If you understand and accept those compromise, then it is all good. The problem is, more than often, many just don't bother to do enough research and assumed a BT headphone adapter with USB DAC function will always have equally good BT and USB capability, then only to realize those are often not true. Sometime they might really just want a really great USB dongle but get distracted by the fanciness of BT, and end up getting a device that don't quite work out 100% to their need.

Quality discussion and thoughts right here! Thanks, guys for being insightful and respectful all around.

i see no logic being charged £199 for a BT dongle that has a worst performing dac to the respectively £169 and 189 dedicated dacs from the same company
For me it was the ability to have so much power with the ifi house sound in a small form factor. I already own the hip dac, and this operates in a completely separate space for me. The black label or signature would be what makes the hip dac obsolete, not this.

That's true, GO blu and hip-dac/hip-dac 2 were meant to coexist in our roster instead of fighting there.

I like it too but its too expensive.i also own the hip dac and the jump in price is unjustified imo.

Well yeah I agree with you there considering what you get with the hip in build and sound quality I think £100 -120 would be more tempting for people.

Appreciate your feedback, guys!
