iFi audio GO blu - Super small. Super light. Super Sound.

I like it too but its too expensive.i also own the hip dac and the jump in price is unjustified imo.

I hear you and I understand that GO blu's small size might not fully communicate its price (it might even reduce its perceived value), but it's a balanced design that's also wireless and more complex than hip-dac, so it had to be more expensive :)

Suffice it to say, we won't raise our prices as long as we don't have to. In vast majority of cases this happens if our manufacturing costs go up i.e. due to a higher component prices, or to have our orders on time.

I am a heavy user of bluetooth dac/amps, the Go Blu is a somewhat unique take on the device type and a really nice change. It is like the physical controls off a decent DAP installed on a gadget smaller than my zippo. I am really pleased with it.

@Sebastien Chiu .. any update on the questions on firmware.. I believe you said you would have an update this week.
For any good product good support is paramount.. this is not off to a good start when a simple firmware clarification takes week. It was just a simple question.. does go blu currently have a sleep mode ? If yes what is it set to. Also led lights status is it working.. what exactly is the reason for anyone to upgrade the firmware.. so far it has not been buggy’s, it sounds excellent but hisses. So unless something drastic is changing no initiative to upgrade the firmware .. just a thought

My temporarily clip-on solution: magnetic headphone cable clip attached to the back with nano magic tape.

Hi Animal,

I asked and have not gotten more info on the update at this time other than this below.

~ Yes, the Go Blu does have a sleep mode prior to the most recent update.

Here is the clarification for what that sleep mode is: https://ifi-audio.com/faqs/does-the-go-blu-go-into-sleep-mode/

~ The double click for the LED indication is for the button below the volume knob that allows you to re-pair a device after you've disconnected from one on the Blu itself.

~The hiss is something we are looking into separately and updates will come as we have them.

Upgrading firmware is a choice, and if you do not want to upgrade firmware, there is nobody forcing your hand to do so.

Our products run by the mentality of what isn't broken doesn't need to be fixed but doesn't mean it can't be improved.

This, as such, is the case with the firmware and why we always recommend folks upgrading when a new update comes out, even if their unit doesn't have issues.

Thanks!

Hi IFi
Congratulations on a great little product.
I have been using it a few days and I’m really enjoying it.
Small good sounding and a fun little unit.
My only question is when will I be able to update the firm ware from Apple iOS?

all the best and keep up the good work 👍

We're working on that and it should be possible in the future.

This seems impressive and maybe a good reason to upgrade my BTR5. Also, the 4.4 is great. Still a pre-order here in the US.

245mW @ 32Ω; 5.6v @ 600Ω
165mW @ 32Ω; 2.8v @ 600Ω

Just received my mine a couple hours ago. I've been using the BTR5 for almost a year. I was shocked as to how small it is compared to FIIO. I also appreciate the balanced 4.4m input. Sound signature seems to be warmer than the BTR5 which I find inviting and welcoming. Extremely easy to setup and pair with my devices. Very surprised and pleased. I recommend this unit!

@ gabby, Pre order from some retailers. Others have had them for over a week.

Wondering which microphone will be used by default if IEM's cable has an inline microphone. I have a Shure IEM that comes with cable with inline mic which I prefer to use for phone calls as I feel it will be difficult to use go blu's mic without a clip. Does anyone know please?

I'm sure the jacks are output only.
