I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions
Sep 23, 2010 at 12:02 PM Post #3,616 of 3,761
After listening to my beloved x1050 for almost a year now, its battery is quite drained. It lasts only for 2 days of 1 hrs of a day listening. Having no faith in Sonyeuroasia Turkey for the replacement of the battery, I might be sadly looking for new player for the cost of the new battery. Since x series is nso more available in my country, would it be feasible, sound qualtywise, to buy the new a845 series? Would I loose most of the sq of he x by replacing it with a845?

Thanks.

I can't imagine the A845 sounding much different from the X. Maybe I need to start listening to wav files on mine.

Personally I'm disappointed with Sony and won't be buying another.

Are you not tired of the whining? We have heard it from you so many times we know it too well and no one is going to try and convince you to buy Sony products in the future.

Yes, we get the picture, as you've mentioned over and over again.

Two people just did so. Who cares how often you or I or anyone else comes here? No one.

You just keep criticizing Sony, everyone here knows you  do not  like them, that is fine, but why y the same thing 10 times?

I have a Sony x 1060, a week ago.... have a little problem with some tags in mp3. In certain albums doesn´t recognize any title, artist, cover....Only shows "unknown".
Have this troble solution?

thankssssss

Check if the files are using id3v2.3 tags, and not id3v2.4 as I'm pretty sure the X doesn't support it. You can easily change them with mp3tag.

I just sold my X1050 and it's LOD to a fellow Head-fi'er. I'm sorry to see her go but we just never really connected. I mean, she was sexy and all but there just wasn't any real love.

Byebye Sony! Gonna stick to using my Sansa Clip+ and put the money I got towards a desktop setup or a Hifiman HM-602 depending on the reviews.

After several months of owning the X1060, I still use it exclusively as a sort of multi-CD player (only load wav files in there) and I rediscovered my Beyer DT770 Pro with it ; they sound reaallly good, best I ever heard them so far! The amp drives them just fine with volume at around 19-20 most of the time!

Very, very happy with IE8 and X.

Better instrument separation, better extension at both ends, a big bass floor on tap but it is much more controlled than with the iPhone, good size and external controls...this is just the portable combo I wanted.

Only thing is, after 1,5 years I feel batterylife has diminished, but is still tolerable.

This is interesting; this weekend I decided to try recharging from the mains instead of the PC and it seems battery life is mucch longer that way; very very rough estimate is double.
