Yeah, seems to be a decision to only allow one service at a time. However, Roon now recognizes Red as a Roon Ready Device after 2 OTA updates. I have an older Red.

If you don't use Roon, it would be best to move to Ropieee or an older Red OS, IMO.

For me the problem is:
- The current Ropieee is crackling in using NAA or RAAT with the Red
- The new RedOS don't allows two services at once
- Jussi's NAA image has only NAA included

For me it doesn't even work. It acts just like before, with that buggy version: it boots, but then it freezes.

I remember you had the same issues with me (after the device boots, software force shut down the unit because thinks that is a serial missmatch).
Although my serial number is one of the latest as your's, i installed this version: https://josmagnah.stackstorage.com/s/Z3gU3ycnREPvPM4v after installing it, do all the updates (they are many) and you will finally end with 2024.02.16. i cannot download 27.03.2024 software...the progress bar is stuck at 0%... anyone else with the same problem?

How about Jussi‘s HQPlayer OS with UPnP, NAA and also compatible to Roon. Sound quality wise really great on the Red.

I've just installed the latest update, version 2024.03.27. Despite the hassle of selecting different sources, I'm keeping it because I can hear a significant 10-20% improvement in sound quality. I'm really impressed!

How about Jussi‘s HQPlayer OS with UPnP, NAA and also compatible to Roon. Sound quality wise really great on the Red.

This is what I am using now. It sounds great. I can live without AirPlay.

The main reason I've bought Red was Tidal Connect. With almost every update a new issue appeared

• Recent Tidal app was unable to connect
• First MQA unfold disappeared
• Android 13 was unable to connect
• Still no hi-res FLAC support
• Multiple service support gone (using UPnP beside Tidal)

My Red arrives on Wednesday, I'm very excited.
I've read that the HQPlayer OS is recommended here, I'm interested because I also want to use Roon, I currently do this via an RPi4 with DietPi, so I can easily choose between Roon and HQPlayer, I then control both with Roon.
What about the HQPlayer OS?
Do I need HQPlayer Embedded for this?

Is the new O/S available somewhere other than through the Red O/S? I don't have the Red O/S flashed and I'd rather just download it and write it to a new card.
