High End CIEM/IEM Thread!

Good question.

No it is not different, as we wanted to keep all the past reviews and impressions applicable to the Prestige K10

Basically there are now three versions of the K10

1) K10 standard (customer picks and chooses his, her art design (hand poured acrylic shell)

2) K10 Wizard design (acoustically the same, art work/design provided by Noble (hand poured acrylic shell

3) Prestige K10 (Acoustically the same, art work at an unprecedented level. The shells are ground out of a solid block of medium; wood, wood mixtures, carbon mixtures, acrylic mixtures etc etc.  The shells are then hollowed out by hand, and the parts are mounted within the shell. The face plate is comprised of the same materials that the shell is made out of. Ultimatley the final result is a CIEM carved out of a solid block of material.

Thanks for asking.

Can you please clarify something for me? I've recently ordered a pair of K10 Universals, which I believe belongs to Wizard category. Now I was told they only come in one finish (purple one as displayed on your webpage). I am confused. So does it or does it not come in different varieties?

Thanks in advance!

The K10 Univer is not purple, it is black, with "antique silver" glitter applied, with a coat of lacquer as well.

And yes at this point in time they only come in that finish.  We consider the K10 Universal as a "Wizard Universal" as it is hand finished etc etc.

Thanks for clarifying. When it comes to tips, it's very hard for me to find a pair that will sit comfortably for hours without hurting.

I'd love to know what others here use. Any suggestions? I've heard Comply tips are good.

I'm a customs guy, but I tried Comply tips at RMAF and they were the best foam tips I've used. Not too fast on the memory bounce back, but not so slow that you have to hold it in your ear for a long time waiting for the foam to expand. They have a firm but comfortable fit.

The Pacific NW Noble Tour stopped by my place recently and I got to try out the full Noble line-up, and the the various tips they supply with their universals.

1). The K10 is awesome - I suspect you will love it

2). The tips are a really nice mix and I would be surprised if at least one of the styles doesn't give you a good seal. I was impressed enough that I've been recommending The Noble tip collection to people having trouble getting a seal, regardless of IEM brand (must be thick stemmed obviously).

IK! I'm super impressed by G3's capability. It matches with any IEM I pair with, including the UERM, SE846, and even the Fidue A83.

The Meizu MX4 Pro might be the new SQ king of smartphones: http://www.meizu.com/en/products/mx4prohifi.html (the other more relevant smartphone specs seem to one-up the G3's as well) But goodness, they decided to use the horrible, horrible (absolutely illogical) marketing term "Retina Sound".
