Amazon reviews of the KSE1500 are kind of funny. They're comparing them to SE215, calling them snake oil. It's the fact that they managed to create a closed back electrostatic drivers for an IEM that gives so much premium to the KSE1500.

I'm really liking the KSE1500, but OTG I mostly don't bother with them because of the required DAC/AMP.

I have had a few IEM, some custom, some off the shelf. The Etymotc ER4 and ER6 are good units and are superb at isolation. When the filters get clogged be sure to pop in new ones. When the filters are right they are in my opinion Bose 901 like. Just real good - it's my opinion.

Triple fi, off the shelf are to my ears a step up the ladder in terms of sound quality. The problem is they are just too uncomfortable to wear for more than a few moments.

Triple fi, re-shelled by in-Earz. Easy to drive and almost indestructible. Mine still in use today and even though they're in the same case as my other IEM's they are not my go to device. I do have to say that the blue ant ribbon drives them just fine for non-critical listening. Just remember that I am a critical listener.

My go to CIEM Is a set of Heir 8a made when John Moulton was still with Heir. They have been reshelled by in-Earz to a set of new impression. As a good patient I know what to do to get a set of good impressions. I use a balanced silver Litz cable to a customized Centrance HiFi M8 (think left/right balance). I am limited to the digital out of the PC, Galaxy S6, S4 or iPod, but who cares. It's a bit of connecting and wires but, on my hip, at a lab bench,I get quality sound and a quiet space. Thanks to Matt at Forsa for building the OTG, Ted at HPL - he makes ALL my cables and stands behind his products, and a great sense of humor, M Goodman, Kenny S, and David Mc, at Centrance, and Kaysan T and KA Fisher at InEarz. It has proven to be a wise investment as I am not considering any changes in the foreseeable future.

I think I give the edge to full size cans but the IEM's are likely used more as I have the time available. At home I grab the LCD-XC's first, always. The Stax are on semi permanent loan to a friend.

Help! Can anyone suggest a flagship ciem with the sound signatures of the TH900? I LOVE the th900 and feel like do many flagships are compared to the HD800 which I don't care for.

UE 11Pro comes with great bass.

UE PRM, UE Personal Reference Monitor can give you the precise customization you may wish, in either side.

Seems like there are hundreds of different CIEM makers, each with a broad selection of different versions (4 driver, 6 driver etc).

It's a jungle, that's for sure.

I just wonder, how do you guys know what CIEM to buy? Is there any anual international trade show or anything similar, where you can try different CIEM's from different brands? Otherwise you have no idea what CIEM you like the most.

I mean, "flagships" are around 1000€ or above, and that is a huge sum of money, just to buy something unknown off internet.

Maybe I should keep to my $28 IEM's.. :p

HK has some chance to try some of them in shops. I guess you cant get a 100% idea as they have tips but it gives a good demo of capabilities. But still limited to what they carry. For the rest of the ranges....either wait to visit local dealers or just pull the trigger and hope!!

All right.

I will travel around Asia and Europe this coming autumn, maybe I will have the chance to try some then.

Is there any list available where all the CIEM makers are listed? Maybe even with locations? Would be great to have with me on my travels.

The Noble K10 is rated number one on Head Fi, with 24 consecutive five star reviews. In the history of Head-fi.org, no other product design has held that distinction, further more, the Noble K10 has held its number one position on Head Fi, longer than any other product design in the history of Head-fi.org

There are shows held frequently in the USA, there is a show in Japan near the end of October, and there will probably be a show in Singapore, April of 2017.

As for locations that you could demo a Noble K10, or its sister flagship the Katana,

If you would like to meet in Bangkok, PM me, and we can try to make arrangements. I will also be attending the show in Japan in October as well.
