What would you recommend ? And how can that improve the.performance ?
I guess it would be to have the preamp in passive volume modeb (I mean when you cant change the volume of the preamp) and control the volume on the amp only ?

In general, audio setups don't benefit from having more than one volume control and only one is all that's needed. Also, the shorter a signal path is, the better, so in that context two volume regulators make it longer than using just one. If I were you, I'd try using your THR-1 connected to your DAC (with its own volume bypassed if it has any) directly. The odds are that sound you'll get from that setup will improve.

True in most cases, I'm sure, but I've had a different experience. In my 2-channel system, I used to have an MSB Analog DAC with a volume control running directly into my MSB S-200 power amp. That sounded excellent for many years. Then I got a Herron Audio tube preamp and added that between the 2 MSB units and the sound was far superior to my ears and brain...

That's understandable, standalone preamps can work wonders, but I assume that in the second scenario you had your DAC's volume bypassed?

The new Signature drives them beautifully, I have mine listed for sale in the classifieds! Open to kind offers!
iFi's performance to size ratio is second to none. For that they recieve kudos.

I have used the older model and it was a winning combo with the TC (and quite good with the Sus).

I'm looking to get Dekoni sheapnskin (not fss) because leather is more comfortable/cooler on my skin.

How do they affect sound? I read that the fss makes things sharper and more exciting which is the opposite of what I want.

Would love some feedback!

Just got a Susvara in and have all the Dekoni pads to try alongside it. Sheepskin and Fenestrated are pretty similar to stock but definitely added a bit of extra undesired sibilance. More importantly made my ears sweaty a bit too quickly for my liking.

Velour took a bit of treble away and Elite Hybrid made no difference to the sound other than improved pad quality and comfort.

To be fair I think the biggest factor in sound when it comes to pads are the dimensions (opening size, angle and distance between your ear and the driver). Dekoni pads are almost exactly the same dimensions as the stock Susvara pads. I think you might as well get the comfort style you tend to prefer on other headphones then EQ to taste. Can't speak for ZMF pads but I'm open to trying any pads that get my ears a bit further away from the driver!

Dekoni specs have the thickness listed at 23mm and my OEM pads are closer to 25mm. I did not touch using the OEM pads
and just brushed up using the Dekoni pads so they were a no-go for me.

People with an older unit like myself will likely come to the opposite conclusion. My stock pads are very thin. I think the newer (3.5 mm?) units have slightly thicker stock pads. The Dekoni FSS is also thin, but firmer, making it a slightly better option for me, in terms of ears touching.

ZMF pads much thicker and comfortable. They change the sound a lot.

I'm getting a Susvara and have been researching amps to potentially upgrade to. I was thinking about the AHB2, but there have been so many positive reviews on the new iCAN Pro Signature that I think that's the way I'm going to go. I owned the original Pro and of the amps I've owned that was one of my favorites. The feature set is hard to beat.

But just out of curiosity have any of you directly compared the two and what were your thoughts?

Does the new signature have more power?
I believe the specs list it at the same power but I’ve owned both the last Gen and this new model now and the new model sounds more powerful to me. It likely comes down to the power supply and a quieter noise floor though. I’m thinking at this point I just sell my Ferrum Oor stack along with my WA22 and keep the ifi, it’s just too much bang for the buck.
