you prefer iFi over Oor? Interesting.I believe the specs list it at the same power but I’ve owned both the last Gen and this new model now and the new model sounds more powerful to me. It likely comes down to the power supply and a quieter noise floor though. I’m thinking at this point I just sell my Ferrum Oor stack along with my WA22 and keep the ifi, it’s just too much bang for the buck.
Not a sonic preference but a dollars to donuts preference if that makes sense. As with a lot of equipment in this hobby the pts of difference at a certain level get very very miniscule.you prefer iFi over Oor? Interesting.
yes, for the price it is a solid amp..there are better for sure but you could do worse
Can iFi Pro iCAN drive Susvara properly?
iFi's performance to size ratio is second to none. For that they recieve kudos.
I have used the older model and it was a winning combo with the TC (and quite good with the Sus).

Ever had GS-X Mini and if so comparison to iCan and Signature? Not a sonic preference but a dollars to donuts preference if that makes sense. As with a lot of equipment in this hobby the pts of difference at a certain level get very very miniscule.
I see that Ferrum Hypsos supports iFi Pro iCan. Will it be better than iPower Elite? Would Susvara benefit from it?Exactly. Although in case os Susvara power factors in more than with any other similar headphones, a PSU's quietness and ability to keep up with demand plays the part in making sound sensibly more controlling.
Ipower elite is much better than Hypsos. I've modded the both and even a modded Hypsos can't touch the stock Elite. Though I have a line conditioner on both and it's possible the internal filter of the hypsos is a weak link and causing it to underperform.I see that Ferrum Hypsos supports iFi Pro iCan. Look at that m17 drive the Susvara. If it can drive it that well then most amps can drive it. It's just a matter of clean power. In comparison you can see he has a McIntosh HP Amp demo and it's struggling in comparison.
Merry Christmas!A tube amp would be relying on it's own 2nd harmonics distortion to color the incoming signal than actually faithfully playback the music signal. It may sound better for most people but, not faithful, especially if compared to something like how the m17 outputs the signal.
Toppings have poor psu implementation so that's why it's weak in the power quality factor (despite having enough power quantity) and wouldn't properly drive the susvara and is not a great example. The Topping amp has a cheap smps inside and uses nested feedback. Hence, the m17 is a better example. This is also why my Phonitor one with ifi Elite and sparkos pros sounds better than much beefier amps in driving the Susvara.Merry Christmas!
A Topping amp might be more faithful and measure better, but how many people would prefer listening to the Topping over Woo WA-33, for example? I don't concern myself overmuch about 'faithfully' - what 'sounds better' is all I care about; I'm enjoying listening to music - it's fun!! BTW, my apartment # is '801', as is the name of one of my favorite bands!
