Any advice on cables for susvara?
Pure copper, silver plated copper or pure silver? I believe the stock cable is silver plated copper! Any help is much appreciated :beerchug:

It depends on what you would like to do with these cans. For thicker and warmer profile I would proceed with copper conductors, and silver would be my choice for faster, more open and also leaner result. That's the rough guideline.

1. Silver cable of pure, fairly thick quality (fastest and most revealing, but also expansive).
2. Hybrid cable - with both pure quality silver and fairly thick copper wires (can give the benefits of both materials at 50% price of a good silver cable).
3. Pure rather thick quality copper cable (a good copper cable is very good and better than many thin silver cables IMO).
4. Rather thick silver plated copper cable (a little better than the stock cable)
5. Thin silver plated copper cable (stock cable)

Hi, may I know if anyone has tried the Feliks Echo with the susvara ? I am greatly considering getting the susvara in a few months, but I wonder if my Feliks Echo can pair well with it, or I should expect to plan to get a new set of headphone amp as well.

Currently running the Denafrips Iris -> Denafrips Ares II -> Feliks Echo chain

unfortunately the Echo and even upwards to the Euforia do not have enough juice for the Susvara. Suggest you look into powerful headphone amps or good speaker amps (this thread is rife with recommendations which helped me navigate the good options out there)

The Echo is unfortunately not powerful enough for the Susvara.
At a premium Budget Feliks will release a new amp by the end of the year which will be Powerful enough.
Other than that Feliks amps are only suited as preamps into a more powerful amp to drive the Susvara

After being on the fence for a long time, I've finally taken the plunge. A new pair of Susvaras is en route and should arrive on Monday.

My experience may be of help.

I recently complained that my Susvara headphone sounded too "thin and bright" when used in the following setup.

PS Audio PWT CD-transport => Wireworld Micro-Silver Eclipse 8 AES interconnect => Wyred-4Sound 2v2SE 10th Anniversary Limited Edition DAC => Wireworld Silver Eclipse balanced XLR cable => Niimbus US4 headphone amplifier => Norne Silvergarde cable => Susvara headphone.

I empirically purchased the ForzaAudioworks Noir HPC Mk2 cable, which is entirely copper based - https://forzaaudioworks.com/en/product.php?id_product=81

It solved my problem and now my Susvara sounds much more full-bodied and more musically neutral. I suspect that the Norne Silvergarde cable was not a good choice for my Niimbus US4 headphone amplifier, which replaced my Violectric V281 headphone amplifier (which was more warm-sounding and significantly less cold/clinical-sounding than my Niimbus US4 headphone amplifier). I realise, of course, that other Niimbus US4 owners have used silver-based headphone cables with no problem, but I can highly recommend the copper-based ForzaAudioworks Noir HPC Mk2 cable for people who find that their Susvara-based audio setup sounds too "thin and bright".

Purely for listening to Classical/orchestral music, does anyone think the HE1000SE holds its own against the Susvara, or is the Susvara tops there too, hands down? Thanks. (I'm aspiring to an end-game headphone for Classical music).
The Susvara's are the all around better headphone even for those genre's of music.

I would say that Susvara is a better product in general especially with demanding music such as genres you listed, but what HE1000SE does for roughly half the price is still impressive.

I can see the logic of your deductions regarding the Niimbus US4 and the Norne Silvergarde cable. Yet here are a couple of related data points that might be of interest. I also use a Norne Silvergarde S4 with the Susvara, and upgraded my V281 to a Niimbus not too long ago. The Silvergarde S4 is the 8-wire version, but I upgraded to the the 8-wire from the 4-wire version very recently.. I have also used the S3 (now sold) with the Susvara, and have the original Silvergarde S, which now being used with some other cans in the house, but enough of that.

The point I am making is that the transition from the V281 to the Niimbus US4 did not produce the same effect of thinness you're mentioning on my rigs with any of the silvergarde cables. I do sense more "cleanliness" and transparency on the Niimbus, as opposed to the v281, among other differences but not "thinness." Might the different result I am getting be coming from the DAC in the chain, the Sonnet Morpheus, which belongs to the NOS R2R family? It could be, but I cannot say for sure. I just thought these results would be pertinent to this conversation giving their difference from yours, in spite of the striking similarities between parts of your chain and mine....

I love cable talk! The Arctic Cables Aeris is now permanently glued to my Susvara. It gives a bit more body and low end over the prev gen Palladium series, which I feel sounds slightly thinner but with more air and better micro detail retrieval (and is now paired with my Utopia).

The Forza Noir has always piqued my curiosity...
