Just out of interest, fit question for you all - how far up or down your head do you like your HE1000s? I have mine quite tight (comfortably so) and my ears are almost dead centre which seems right, just not sure if I should be going closer to the top or bottom.

If you ears are dead, it is the wrong position
The hp is designed to have fun and not to kill ears.

I owned them for a very short time. They are the u12t (IEM) in the headphone world for me. They do nothing wrong, nearly perfectly in line with Harman and I found them to be boring, unfortunately/fortunately because they are so damn expensive. The HE1000 is, for me personally, much more enjoyable.

In my humble collection:

HE-1000 = Incredible Allrounder, great soundstage, bass is ok - could have more quantity but quality is top notch, speed, speed, speed - and all but boring, eq not really needed. Bass eq not very effective imo
HD800s = Specialist for soundstage (not that the HE-1000 is lacking in soundstage but HD800 remains absolute king in my books), holographic, ethereal. needs eq for sub-bass
TH900 = Specialist when in the need of bass. The king of bass in over-ears for me, needs eq for mids and I even add a little sub-bass

that is a perfect trifecta. And all three cost less than 1 pair of Sus.

I’ve made the decision to order the HE1000 Stealth and can’t wait for them to get here. Pairing them with the iFi iCAN Pro Signature as a likely stopping point for a good while.

It is soft, and pleasant.
But with 3m much too long.
I build cables myself out of passion, but I look at this from the sober point of view as an electronics engineer: cables should be kept as short as possible. That is my opinion.

I'd love a 5 ft pair of your cables for HEk

This is non stealth version. I think the stealth version is not listed on China website yet but only in Germany website for $2299 (this is what I recall from some other thread, not too sure about the price of stealth but it is $300-$400 more than the non stealth, it seems).

I think the HEK height adjustment is very important. A while back,I went rather OTT with this post Here.

So OTT, that it may have put some people off trying. But I stand by what I said.
The end result was a position lower than felt normal, but it did bring the ear canal closer to the widest part of the enclosure, which I'm guessing is the main cause of the change of presentation.

As crazy as this sounds…….. I would contact hifiman support and ask them. Tell them where you are as it may ship from a specific warehouse/country and if you have a preference ask them if that’s possible.
