Hiby R6 Pro - serious upgrade to popular DAP
May 3, 2020 at 7:33 AM Post #3,286 of 4,006
My Tidal MQA works, but I can not get back to playing the music files on this DAP. HELP!!!!!!
My opening page has the 5 icons across the near bottom of the screen. The middle one is for HiBy Music. If I select that, I get a screen that says: An Entire New Infrastructure for USB DAC. Also has a graphic showing gears. It is frozen/static. Leads nowhere.
Help me please. This is my problem

Try swiping left and right on the screen?

It definitely works - i just updated on wireless, version shows as 3.18.71-perf, Mon Apr 20 17:29:39, build 1.86G, and I see the same track in proper MQA at 384K.

As far as I know, MQA albums are only up to 192 KHz. It seems like something is wrong....

Do you mean something is wrong because you can't get 384kHz or something is wrong *because* you're getting 384kHz?

I may have misunderstood what he meant because somebody talked about buying an album and other posts were about Tidal. I do not think Tidal has any MQA higher than 192 KHz. So if somebody's device is displaying 384 KHz for a Tidal MQA then something is wrong with the firmware.

I don't have the r6 but I have been watching this thread because I wanted hardware MQA support.

So amusing — I did the OTA update yesterday, and afterwards Hiby Music was ‘stuck’ on the screen telling me about the new USB. I could not get it to advance. Spotify played, Foobar played, but nothing from Hiby Music.

Then I swiped ... Doh!

@Joe Bloggs

Could you try to do factory reset with latest firmware?

I did but It says "no command" in android background.

I did a factory reset after the update to make sure.

At the no command, you simply hit power & Vol. Up again.

Takes yoi to the cache and reset settings.

I had no problems. Factory reset kept me with the new firmware. My memory issues were fixed.

Folks keep asking the difference between Stainless Steel and Aluminum— here it is:

Had it out of the case to swap microSD and had a little mishap. No biggee— doesn’t affect the sound, but I presume SS is much harder and wouldn’t dent.

Stainless steel would probably dent, but not get scratches.

You'd just be able to throw it in a messenger bag with keys. (though the screen glass would be the next worry)

Question, wasn't there on top of the screen display showing what khz the Hiby was currently reading/functioning on?

Just curious to see what it should display during mqa.
