Hi Joe,

Thank you for your reply and your time for me.

My player is Hiby R3, I wrote it here because it is a more frequently read topic.

The device has the latest official firmware, 1.6.
Play through albums is turned on in the play setting.

My problem is that when I start playback from under the artists tab, the album ends either stops or restarts the same album.
Any small icon is activated or the two options in the play settings. If I start playback from under the albums tab, everything works fine there.

Cheers,

kutya
Unfortunately you've run into a limitation of the current firmware / system. This is currently normal behaviour.

Hi,

Could previous firmware know this option?

Haven’t used the R6 in a while. Picked it up for a listening session and it had peeled apart. Been sitting in an air-conditioned room under shade. No ambient heat. Have to assume the battery blew.

I was hoping someone from Hiby would respond with: "Hey guys, sorry to see this happened. If you want to get your R6s fixed, you can start the process at this link: ______. Our wonderful support team can give you a quote for the repair and an idea of how long it will take."

Wishful thinking? 🤷‍♂️
that would be emailing service@hiby.com to get an RMA.

I was doubting that people would repair these old devices given what's involved (apart from the very reasonable parts cost at HiBy)--international shipping to and from HiBy HQ--but I guess yes, it would have been my duty to mention what you would do to get it repaired, whether or not you would want to go ahead with it. Sorry for the late reply.

That's what's putting me off buying hiby again......the battery life is poor, WiFi is poor, the battery inside mine can be bought from eBay for about £4..and a better WiFi Aerial is 83p!
If you can buy the exact same battery from eBay for any price, I'm all ears. And obviously the malfunctions with the WiFi aerial has more to do with installation of the antenna (and any mishaps therein) than the price or quality of the part itself.

Not sure if it's the exact same battery but it fits and has the same capacity...time will only tell if it outlasts the original hiby one...as to the WiFi....it was poor when I got it so was installed by hiby but miles better now I've replaced it with my 83p replacement

If you are sure yours is the R6pro, I see your question has been answered in that thread.
