Im impressed that this thread is still active! Even r6 2020 stopped back in feb 2021. I have to say even though i sold my r6 years ago it was an impressive dap for the time mseb was a game changer. Too bad the oi was oddly very high causing sensitive iems to sound muddy.

I have a few daps( sr15, r3 pro, r5, fiio x7) and there is something that the R6 does that sounds nicer to my ears. Not sure I could tell you what that is though :)

I picked mine up off charge earlier and it was hot. I’ve seen the back has come away.

I’m not too comfortable charging and using it now for obvious reasons. Can anything be done or is it destined for the bin. I hope not!

Mine was also very hot and now won’t load. Hiby not responding to my emails asking what to do. I get a logo, and then after about 30 seconds it just reboots.

Mine was also very hot and now won’t load. Hiby not responding to my emails asking what to do. I get a logo, and then after about 30 seconds it just reboots.
Our response (and we're not reluctant to post it or anything) would be to send it to headquarters for changing out the battery for a nominal fee (like under 50usd). There might be something wrong with us receiving your email or you receiving our email. Pm me your email addresses.

I have a confession. I went back through my old emails and found a reply from Hiby. They did contact me with a suggestion for recovery. It did not work the first nine or 10 times I tried it. So I went back and tried it again. I did a complete factory reset two or three times and gave up. Next time I started the unit it did come up. I have to say I was amazed.

Anyway, I want to apologize to Hybi and members here. They did respond.

A public service announcement regarding TIDAL on our devices

Currently, TIDAL (builds starting from 2.87.1 that included Max level FLACs) does not seem to be working properly for devices of Android version 10 or below.
I included my investigation results (how I arrived at this conclusion) here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/tidal-lossless-streaming.733233/page-340#post-17695132

One solution is for us to upgrade all our DAPs to 11 and up, but as some of you know, our ability to do update the Android version is pretty much tied to the SoC used and the SDK provided. 😅

Another solution, since the app does allow installation on all our DAPs ranging down to Android 6, is for TIDAL to make use of the info given above to debug the app for older versions of Android, so that they will actually run properly on devices they would install on. 😀

As of this writing, the last TIDAL version I tested that functioned properly, was 2.86.0 . I include a link to its installer here
