Very few changes? I think you are mistaken here. Cosmetically maybe but the whole amplification section is changed, the pro is much more powerful and with a very low output impedance with a 4.4mm balanced output... If that doesn't qualify for a "pro" moniker I don't know what does...
You don't have to like it but please, a little more "finesse" wouldn't hurt

Ok, fair points. But I still think these could have been running changes. Something like DAC or processor upgrades etc. are more significant.

Not to the actual sound of the player they aren't. Both a change in the output impedance and a change in the amplification stage would effect sound changes on earphones more than a DAC change.

anyone here got a chance in replacing the battery of our R6?

Send it in to us for replacement?

where can i send it, Joe?
Depends on where you bought it. If from a local seller, send an email to both the seller / distributor and service@hiby.com with your request, to arrange for sending it to your local distributor for forwarding to us. Otherwise, just email service@hiby.com , and send it to our receiving point in Hong Kong directly.

My R6 apparently died yesterday (won't power on or charge). I got a year and 9 months of service out of it before it gave up the ghost. I think it's battery related, due to its age and it draining rather quickly. Does anyone have a source for a replacement battery? I did get the player to briefly show the screen plugged in with no battery connected, so I feel I might be able to resurrect the player if I add another battery.

I'm thinking of upgrading my B&W Px headphones (which support aptx-HD) to the new B&W Px7 headphones which support aptx-Adaptive. In case you didn't already know this means that you get HD audio but it drops to a lower rate when the connection is poor instead of cutting out the audio. I suffer from poor bluetooth strength on the R6 and frequent audio cut outs when on aptx-HD.

Big question: If or when will the R6 support aptx-Adaptive?

I just ordered a 5000mah 3.7 v 3 wire replacement battery off of ebay. It probably won't fit inside due to it being 1000mah bigger than the original battery, but hoping it does. Otherwise I guess I will find another 4k mah battery. Since the glass back on the player was already cracked, I simply broke/peeled out the back glass, removed the two wifi antenna wires from the glass, unscrewed the metal frame that was under the glass and peeled the battery off the same metal frame (it's glued or taped to the opposite side of the glass). Battery is soldered to the main board with 3 wires, so it should be an easy swap.

You could ask them to send you the battery if you'll willing to try doing it yourself (or having someone do it) at your own risk...

Dear all,

I have tried to connect the R6 to Hugo 2 by USB to play spotify app which sample rate should be 44.1kHz. It is strange that the light of hugo 2 turn to green which indicate the sample rate is 96 KHz.
Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Ryan,

Although the R6pro has the Hiby Direct Transport Architecture for the line / headphone outputs, the USB port follows the standard Android implementation, which means that regular Android apps outputting via USB will have their audio resampled.

Problems on my R6 after 11 months of slowly degrading battery performance, it suddenly falls sharply...

Android 6.0.1
HiBy 1.3.5
Google Play Services 19.5.30

TRIED...
Reset to factory settings.
Set all permissions in Play Services
Cleared cache

Wifi off
Bluetooth off
Using HiBy Player

See image attached.... after 2 hour's playback using Oppo PM3's (26 ohms) in non-balanced socket, battery falls to 17% then the player shuts down.

@ Joe Blogs... any new ideas on poor battery life?

I have a suspicion that the battery monitoring software may be to blame. Is there any way to reset the battery monitor?

Thanks
