I'm perplexed by a lot of things.
Worst interactive company experience ever. By a mile.

I am guessing something is up with them. I mean its to be launched today and there is not a trickle of information coming. They don't seem very organised to me. Sorry just an observation.

Indeed.
Wow. I'm very impressed by the sculpted silver housing. Reminds me of the higher end Sony DAPs. Like that new one. I forgot the model name. You know what I mean.
This dap ticks everything for me but the z output is making me so sad. Great design, hopefully good sound, a modern SD chip, great screen.
But my Andros and ES5 would not have good synergy. Stacking with an amp would solve this but it is counterintuitive...

Yeah, doesn't make much sense on this piece of sophisticated hardware. Better double-check, waiting for a comment fm @Joe BloggsI am perplexed by the high impedance.

I was the one who originally told [@]reginalb[/@] about the output impedance. I'm trying to see if there's anything more to say on the subject.
On the chosen headphone amplifier part (TPA6120A2) the inline resistance protects against overload and also decreases distortion to the impeccably low levels quoted when driving low impedance loads.

Joe if i may.. that vid is a bi of a teaser. I mean we wanted to see the player in action and not being stuck with the language. I applaud him for the vid though.I was the one who originally told [@]reginalb[/@] about the output impedance. I'm trying to see if there's anything more to say on the subject.

From what I can gather that amp is rated at 10 ohms output impedance into a 1000 ohm load. This isn't the appropriate way to measure or spec it for a portable device. It should be measured into a 16 or 32 ohms load. I think the z out will measure much lower if that is done, just guessing but likely about 1 ohm. There is a fair amount of info about this amp in head-fi, consensus seems to be it sounds fantastic on high impedance cans, not so much on low impedance, but of course a lot will depend on implementation. Joe, I really would advise your engineers to measure the z out themselves into a load typical of IEM's, 16-32 ohms. I think you're doing yourself a disservice by just quoting the manufacturer spec, because it isn't appropriate for your application. This is similar to the mistake Shanling made when they first reported z out specs for their players.

That was my thought too as I looked at the unboxing vid. But what's done is done, by all rights one unboxes a product only once I do feel guilty for not having overseen the review / demo process more personally. Someone should at least have switched the language in advanceJoe if i may.. that vid is a bi of a teaser. I mean we wanted to see the player in action and not being stuck with the language. I applaud him for the vid though.
