There had been several OTA updates to the R6 before the flash update. You may consider the possibility that if other manufacturers have exhausted the possibilities of OTA upgrades, they may have End-of-Lifed the product already in terms of firmware updates...Hiby does not support users who have bought the R6. I have gone through the supposed update process many times on my Windows 10 system and other laptops. I was unable to see the listing in the Device Manager step for Com?
I have 4 other DAP player 2 from A&K, Shanling and FIIO. All have OTA firmware updates. The Hiby support team is clueless with support after the sell.
My advice do not buy a Hiby product until they turn this around.
For your problem, refer to the guide at https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hib...unded-indiegogo.852042/page-349#post-14703786 and pay attention to the following points:
1. Make sure that you have contacted and initiated the R6 properly:
"Connect the R6 to the computer using a good USB cable (no intermittent connections please!) while powered OFF. Wait until the HiBy logo passes and the charge animation shows up. Then press and hold the volume + and – buttons, then, while still holding those two buttons, start holding the power button as well. (Official instruction is simply to press and hold these three buttons at the same time. But if you press the power button before the volume buttons are held down, the device may not enter the right mode.) If successful, the R6 screen should flash the logo quickly and then go completely dark. Now you may release all buttons."
2. After this, please allow a minute or two wait time for Windows to install drivers before the Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM(something)) appears in Device Manager.
