@Joe Bloggs - looking at HiBy website for an impedance adapter for the R6, I see 4.4mm-to-4.4mm or 4.4mm-to-2.5mm adapters.
Why no 2.5mm-to-2.5mm impedance adapter?! My R6 (non-pro) does not have 4.4mm jack... Any plans for such impedance adapter?

@Joe Bloggs

Ok. Thought I saw it used that as just joe. Nevermind. It seems you do not have an answer for me too. Thanks anyway.
I hope to have something for you tomorrow

I think you'll find that the answer lies in the respective impedance specs of the R6 and the R6 pro...

Garcia, manana then.
They're saying it's a firmware incompatibility with a certain build of the device (you know, even though the R6 remains the R6, parts have to be sourced from different manufacturers throughout the product lifecycle...)
and apparently you'd just have to charge it however it may be charged for now, until the next firmware update comes out :frowning2:
Or you may roll back to previous firmware by e.g. flashing the first oreo version.

Thanks, i guess the next firmware update is indeterminate. How would one roll back? Go thru the same process as when we first went from 6.0 to 8.0? Thats was a hit and run for me. I don't think I wanna go thru that again.
Maybe help by chasing them on the new firware updafe...before their National Day holidays in Oct..

Yes, you would re-flash the original 8.0 firmware.
I'm sure there will be an update sooner than that

Joe can you supply a change log?
1. Added AAC, LDAC and UAT codecs to Bluetooth reception function.
2. Various bug fixes (hopefully including something to do with the battery...)

Thanks Joe, fingers crossing do work
Have downloaded. Lets see if it solves my issue. Seems to have a new version of of the Hiby music app 3.0 i think. First impression is that the app is more snappy. Thanks again Joe. Cheers.

So, finally used a DAP until it broke before replacing it with the newest thing. My Indiegogo R6 won't charge or connect to the PC anymore. I think the USB C port has gone wonky or given up trying to push all that luxurious lossless audio back and forth. Just sent an email off to Hiby with the hopes I won't need a new mortgage for repairs.

Update: Just got my R6 back from repair. They replaced my USB-C port for a very reasonable cost and got it back in my hands in pretty much two months. Overall, pretty satisfied with the experience.

Here you see a 1kHz square wave signal sampled at 192kHz, being put out by a music app on android. On usual Android devices this signal would be resampled and mixed into the fixed 48kHz system audio stream, producing a digital output to the DAC like the upper picture. Whereas on the R6, DTA architecture bypasses Android Sample Rate Conversion (SRC) for all apps, the signal would pass unaltered to the DAC like the lower picture.

So you see, in the past you could get a phone or player with a "quad DAC", or even a power-hungry 8-channel ES9018S meant for home audio. But today for the first time, you will be sending the original signal to the DAC, to be converted into the original sound reaching your ears. From almost all Android apps, not just the one or two hi-res compatible apps bundled with the player

*** A notice about Tidal on the R6 by Joe Bloggs of HiBy Music ***

WINDOWS DRIVER FOR THE R6: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtuiwfIBRYFEga100RKUcQ4TyCPJrQ
Per Joe Bloggs "it's still a bit rough around the edges", includes Windows USB audio driver and readme file.

FYI
Here is reply I got when I contacted HiBy marketing about the R6, which seems to be an actual HiBy brand DAP :

Thank you for your interest! We are still developing the player; as soon as we have more details and/or English promotional material, we'll let you know.

Best regards,

Hiby does not support users who have bought the R6. I have gone through the supposed update process many times on my Windows 10 system and other laptops. I was unable to see the listing in the Device Manager step for Com?

I have 4 other DAP player 2 from A&K, Shanling and FIIO. All have OTA firmware updates. The Hiby support team is clueless with support after the sell.

My advice do not buy a Hiby product until they turn this around.
