Unfortunately its going around in circles a bit with Tidal as they are stating that they do not support Digital Audio Players and that Hiby has developed the app that interfaces with TIDAL. Are you able to liaise with TIDAL support and resolve the issue
To go back to first Oreo update, simply flash the full Oreo ROM again and take the first OTA update as necessary (if I'm understanding you right). Unfortunately incremental updates won't be baked into a new full ROM.

Well, your description of what broke is a little mysterious... Any special properties of these tracks that had gone "flat"? I'm trying to see if there's an actual decoding change that may have caused the change in perception. Multichannel recording maybe? Any new modules in the DSP page?

Yes, you are right. The thing is I go with full balance path, and you may know it really hard to describe it. It's about space (3D image) representation. Has to do with correct phase timing i guess.
Anyway, i am preatty sure they tuched it in native player in the last update. Because as I say other players that render with Hi-res internal driver dont have this "flat" problem (Neutron, UAPP)
When you heard it once, you can say that something wrong even from the background nois you hear when song starts. Its just rendering wrong. I dont know how to explain better. Sorry
Just ask them what they tuched. I would say some resampling is going there. And yes all is desabled in my part with app, no equalizer nothing. But after update, native player just playes wrong.
Play well known track with nice soundtage in two players and you should get the point easally.
Ok so my Tidal app just updated itself, I specifically unchecked the auto-update feature but whatever. My situation is the following: I am still on the 1.11G beta rom with Joe's hotfix to fix the DTA on Tidal and Qobuz (January update). Streaming wise, everything works as it should. Tidal hifi is 44.1khz, Tidal Masters is 88.2khz or 96khz. But the same tracks playing at 96khz will play at 48khz once you download them. Very weird.
The previous version of Tidal had everything in Tidal hi-fi playing at 88.2khz which was wrong but at least the downloaded Master songs were playing at 96khz... Not sure what I want to do now...
