Well on the R6 the sensitivity drop is not necessary as the thing is pretty much dead quiet with all IEMs :D You just need to DIY / order a plug with parallel resistance only, if the OI issue is bugging you and you're absolutely sure that the IEM FR with 0 ohms connected is the only correct response

Not just bugging me, Joe.... The Andromedas are a hugely popular iem and everyone know they require less than 2ohm OI to have their target response.
Although I am not an EE,I am dead certain your team could have created a more versatile player (matching with more iems) with no sacrifice in sound - still not sure why such a high oi in a portable player was your design choice when there are many awesome players with OIs at 2 or less.
I am bummed because I waited a long time for R6 and now I choose playing/ soldering with adapters or another player and eh.. or different monitors.
Am trying to understand more about adapters, outboard, and what they might do to the sound.
Sorry - I am in whinny mood cos I really wanted this player to be perfect for my needs:triportsad:
I think the safe bet, for me, for is use it with an outboard amp- talk about a brick huh?

very interested, a concern I have, not the fault of Hiby, is will I be Rekt by import and duty into Canada, the Gov't is a bitch sometimes in that regard
I've preordered and asked yesterday about importing to uk in my case, no reply yet, but im sure it'll be fine, if not its a no.

Congrats on reaching the goal HiBy. I'm so tempted to get this or the Cayin N5ii. My OPUS #1 has a couple of problems and my warranty is nearly up.
Do like me, get both

Yes same sentiment here, the R6 was supposed to be the perfect DAP for me. Full Android support, DTA, Fast UI, excellent player (Hiby music), good enough battery life, very good output power, looks gorgeous. But then the OI is like throwing a wrench to a perfectly rotating series of gears. The link that Joe has posted was from 2002. That problem has been long resolved. Instead, we have to go back in that era and look at those workaround again if we want to use iems which are trending near 0 load impedance and increasing crossover points. If I get R6 I'm afraid I have limited iems I can use or go around hoops again to mitigate it. Not cool imo. Perhaps after the R6 Hiby would consider releasing a successor that has low OI. Not release asking for very low OI. Just in 1 - 2 Ohm range would have been perfect.

I believe that's the jump from the Super Early Birds to the second tier :D
Indiegogo now showing 0 of 50 sold for SS unit. What’s the deal with that?

Ah... This might have something to do with re-writing the perks so that they would take your shipping address when you back it.

The Indiegogo operating team were hard to talk to yesterday.
Me: "I hear that a lot of the perks did not let backers fill in a shipping address. People are worried why we don't ask for one when they back us..."
Them: "Ah, well, nobody asks for the address up front in a crowdfunding campaign. There's not even such an option on Kickstarter. We'd need to ask them for their updated address when the time comes anyway"
Me: "They check 6 other campaigns and all had shipping address fields available. Just add them to ours"
Them: "Ah, we'll post an update about this"
Me: "Post an update telling people why there's no address field to fill? Why don't you just give them one?

Well, maybe now we know why...
