Thinking about the possible
10 Ohms output impedance with sensitive earphones or multi driver IEMs a simple solution could be the ifi iEMatch.

Looked at the IFI web page and you are right; it's what it was designed for... To drop the output impedance with resistors

Also do I read it correctly that one would have to turn up the volume higher as this will attenuate the output by 12 to 24db?

I think thats correct- and some reviewers claim thats where distortion happens.

I was thinking if this would solve the problem. I want to see some reviews where the 10 z out is actually creating some distortions for BAs.

Too much temptation.

Is the estimated March 2018 release still looking good? I have had some bad experiences with kick starter ( know this is not on kick starter) deadlines constantly being extended. :)
It certainly is. The hardware is final. Some production units have already come out. Only the firmware and the production line itself still need development. Regarding the firmware you may read Marcus' review to see how far we've come (one month ago as a matter of fact, because that's the age of the firmware he reviewed on. It only gets better from there :) )

Well on the R6 the sensitivity drop is not necessary as the thing is pretty much dead quiet with all IEMs :D You just need to DIY / order a plug with parallel resistance only, if the OI issue is bugging you and you're absolutely sure that the IEM FR with 0 ohms connected is the only correct response
