They have added a volume cap but in that situation it dont help.

They may be able to change this.

Joe may pick this up and answer on this subject
The volume issue has been covered before, it's a feature of the ess9028q2m DAC, so it's not a bad thing. It's supposed to be that way in this case and is still a true line out.

Honestly I'd never heard of that before but it's legit and part of the new sabres.

Kind of like how you can control volume over spdif out from your computer in most cases, but most other sources are fixed volume, this is just a new step forward to be glad about.

Good to know. The app in the Apple App Store makes no mention of Hibylink.

I got my hiby finnaly today and I have some problems.First of all on the left upper corner I have a little dot and the screen is damaged,on the right side SS frame is little bit damaged(I guess CNC is fault for that) it isn't anything that bad but it's new so that shouldn't be like that.My wireless connection is pretty bad on the device and the biggest problem is that I cant put any music on the device.
@Joe Bloggs
Sorry to hear that, I understand that the music transfer problem has been solved. Can you send me pictures of your device through pm for assessment?

Question / poll regarding HiBy Music album art.

I have all of the album artwork displaying properly EXCEPT when I go to Artist and change the context from track view to album view. This seems to be a shambles when there are more than 4 or 5 albums. Any other view has the album art displaying perfectly - ironically I tend to listen to music via this route so I see broken artwork a lot.

Firstly, can someone who is not having artwork issues please see if this view is good for them. THANK YOU!

I'm no expert in DAP hardware, but I am actually an expert in graphics formats so I have to ask the community of people who are having no issues at all to comment on their setup.
Here's mine:
- all artwork extracted to cover.jpg
- baseline, non-progressive JPG
- 500x500 or smaller, but nothing under 300x300
- FLAC files sorted in folder hierarchy of Artist->Album
- 1 cover.jpg per album folder
- around 3500 FLAC files in total

I've gone through the recommended clear-out and re-scans and seem to come to the same result.
All of these covers work perfectly when embedded as-is and used on a Sony NW-ZX300, which I regard as being one of the fussiest DAPs I've used recently for cover artwork.

Any feedback welcome.

We have just released a new build for HiByMusic on google play which we think has solved the album art issue under artists' albums. Anyone who has had problems with this on the R6 (and has a library on their smartphone) can give it a spin and let us know if we were right :p

Can anyone confirm if the following would work?

At times I would like to use the R6 as a transport for Tidal offline content to another DAC and still be able to use the R6's EQ. I would think this would work but do not know if any functionality is limited to DAP mode vs transport mode.

It works in my experience, using something like FiiO Q5, I still can tweak the EQ on R6 in its Hiby app :)

Hmm, but how are you able to get offline Tidal tracks to play in HiByMusic in the first place?
Systemwide DSP is something we plan to add to the R6 at some point.

I have chinese version of dap and I have one screen issue. I dont know what is it. I received new device so i think it was not damaged by somebody. It is like some issue in oleophobic cover...
It was very hard to spot it
I could see it only when i tired to apply glass and used wet napkin.
Now if i want I can see it every time
And I dont like it.

I obviously haven’t read the entire thread. When is off line Tidal support expected. That’s my number one use case for the R6. Mine is being delivered today.

I just received my R6. Loving it so far. Does anyone know how to make the Line Out fixed?

I don’t think it’s possible as of now. I didn’t like it at first, but now I like the ability to control the volume at the device. I don’t know how having line out in front of the volume control affects distortion, phase etc.

Thanks! Hopefully we at least have the option to have fixed line out at some point. I'm guessing Hiby is on here watching. Loving the player so far.

By fixed they probably mean that it has a fixed volume the way a line out is meant to be. The volume is shared among all three jacks and this is a big no no. Sometimes I connect the dap to my car aux and raise the volume to 100% and when on disconnect at stays at this volume and does not return to headphone volume. If you forget to lower the volume the next time you are ready to use headphones your going to have an unpleasant surprise.

They have added a volume cap but in that situation it dont help.

They may be able to change this.

I've been told it is possible to separate the Line out and headphone volumes, to which my response was, "well then what are you waiting for? Do eeet!" :p

Hey Joe,
Thanks for the response - always appreciate your time and support.
Just tried again and it's showing all cover art correctly now when re-scanning and going straight to Artist->Album... Nice :)

I'll do some more testing but this looks promising.

Yes! I see some 'triangles' under my screen as well!
