it doesn’t mean the problem isn’t there for others.
Never said that.
Just do not like the approach: "if you have not experienced the problem" you are not using the R1 as intended".

No one is saying you’re using the R1 correctly or incorrectly. The discussion is about using it differently. If some users aren’t experiencing Error 13, it could be due to specific settings or usage patterns. Understanding those differences could help others replicate your setup and avoid the issue. Can you post a picture of your settings so we can replicate them?I am fortunate to not have experienced Error 13. I have tried to duplicate what has been noted here and have not have it Pop up. There may be a difference in some of our settings that may cause or allow others to avoid it.
He must be using his R1 differently.
I guess they just don't wait sufficiently with screen been turned off and playback paused (and switching a player into standby mode - just speculation) before attempting to resume playing back.

Would you please share these your settings -I am fortunate to not have experienced Error 13. I have tried to duplicate what has been noted here and have not have it Pop up. There may be a difference in some of our settings that may cause or allow others to avoid it.
Yes, have tried, and using idle shutdown mode prevents from switching to standby mode: have set idle to 10 min, turned screen off, paused, waited for five minutes, tried to resume - resuming does work as expected. So, standby mode is the root of Error 13.My guess is when something is On, it prevents a player to fall in standby mode, while the last one results in error 13.
Looks like you got it figured out.Would you please share these your settings -
- idle shutdown
- timer shutdown
- screensaver settings
and firmware version in use?

Unfortunately not completely. Idle shutdown mode isn't my intention.Looks like you got it figured out.
Nope. This is about generalizations and ....
Nevermind. EOT.
Yeah I seem to be having a scan limit as well. I transfered 2000 files no issue, added another 6000 files and it does not see all. Will not add more till this is corrected. And I agree on the player, I was hoping for something that resembles the Hiby player I have in my other Daps.I own my R1 today.
No errors, but several issues.
1. Time zone UTC+1 is not working. No time adjusting +1. In my case, the clock is not set correctly (-1h for my time zone).
2. The player scanned all files without any problems, but I cannot find many files while scrolling through the database. Is there a database limitation (20.000) again in year 2024 / 2025? Really?
3. I cannot select an artist with all albums. I can play ONE album while selecting this album, but I cannot select the artist with all albums. There is no possibilty to select all albums of an artist. In addition. The player is playing ONE album although "play through folders" and "play trough all albums" is set and active. This is working in "album" mode, not in "artist mode". In "album" mode the player is playing the tracks of every album....
This behaviour is strange. I never saw a DAP with a good music player..... this is the next one with a cr.... music player. sorry @hiby!
1. Time zone. I have this problem as well. I thought for a while it ”fixed” itself, but no, it’s still there. I just set the time manually as a work around. A fairly minor issue, but also an indication that HiBy does seem to care about the details…I own my R1 today.

I may have spoken too soon. As of this morning, now I am experiencing the Error 13. I should have just kept my mouth shut....I am fortunate to not have experienced Error 13.
