HiBy R1 $85 CS43131 DAP Released!

Just seen on social media that firmware 1.2. is available for the R1 now - just downloading it. Changes are:

1. Added most played list;
2. Added EQ function;
3. Added Tidal sound quality options;
4. Added sampling rate and bit display in the Tidal playback interface;
5. Fixed the issue where MacOS cannot read&write R1 storage via USB;
6. Fixed several other bugs.

@Joe Bloggs any info on the several other bugs that have been fixed?

I am going to return this thing if Err was not replaced. What good is the unit with that issue every time. You saw the error 13 after the update?

Here's a couple of photos. You scroll right to get the to higher frequencies. The funny circle icon resets any custom changes. The settings cog brings up the list of presets. In addition to those in the picture, there's Rock, Dance, Metal and Voice.

I won't be using this (or MSEB) as I tend to make no EQ changes. If I do any, it's in the Bluetooth earphones/headphones themselves with their own respective apps, so my EQ changes get applied to every device I listen to with them (my Sony headphones are way too bass heavy, so I adjusted that down, and my Jabra Elite earbuds are a bit too bass-light, so I adjusted them up a little). I find it works way better than adjusting on all the different devices each time I use different phones.

Just my personal preference though - I guess the EQ in R1 1.2 is a handy addition for most users.

Lol, I own 3 now but had real issues on the M300 when first released. The first 3 I returned within a week and other 2 after that just because I was not pleased with the hardware and the software implementation.

Quit drinking and all of a sudden you have money to burn.

Happy the issue with connecting to MACOS has been resolved. R1 now connects as expected.

Joe was this the big firmware update today we were told about before the Chinese New Year? I think most of us was hoping to at least see the fix for the Error 13 issue. Any chance we may see another one soon, or should we begin to pack away or R1 units till another day?

I've just communicated with headquarters, and this may not be the big fix before Chinese New Year everyone was waiting for. It should still be coming... before the Chinese New Year...
