You can.
By using a 12v battery pack connected to the 12vdc jack
socket[watch you get the polarity correct or you blow the internal fuse...doh
redface.gif
] the pack needs a high capacity but it depends on
what battery duration you need.

I do wonder what the general public would make of those 'Big Black plastic rectangles'

What you need is one of these to divert attention away from the 'earspeakers'. Guaranteed to render your Stax's relatively invisible!

back at uni in bozeman, i saw a lot of grados and sens (mostly straight from headroom i think). here in japan, i mostly see crap sony stuff but i have seen several pairs of w100s. one sound guy for a tv crew had a pair that was beat to **** but seemed to still be going strong. i saw another sound man with a pair of a100ti's on. i also sometime see guys with the funky ath camo phones or the ath f55s that are red or blue zebra stripes, lepard print, or camo with huge fake fur pads on them. those always make me laugh.

well magicthyse, since u're the in-house fashion guru on what's goodlooking and not, i will definitely try to find a hat like that. btw, where did u find urs? i tried to find something with a more straightforward statement as urs, but all i could find was this...

imho, it's a tad too fruity, but the earrings should definitely help steer attention away from the rectangles, no? i do appreciate the statement of simplicity and childlike innocence and naivete so well captured in ur hat tho... it makes me somewhat wistful and melancholy just looking at it... *sigh*... what is the meaning of it all anyway?

andrzejpw, r u talking about UIUC? urbana champaign? i have a good friend there who enjoys head-fi (he has a pair of HD580's), but as far as i know, he's only been scratching at the tip of the iceberg (ie, no dedicated hp-amp

)... hehe, if u do go there, do me a favor and ween him to head-fi?

I saw her wearing a pair of Senn HD-495 in a Entertainment Television program about her new movie with Jackie Chan. They were doing an action scene (a fight) and she was like analizing the scene in a monitor, not relaxing. I can't imagine a better headphone sighting!

For some reason I've seen about a million and a half people on campus wearing Sony MDR-CD180s in the last few weeks. Is this the dreaded Consumer Reports effect?
